MOMA Scholarship 2015 | Post matric Scholarship scheme

  • The post matric scholarship scheme was formed to provide equal opportunity to the minority groups in the country.
  • Post Matric Scholarship is one of the scholarship under MOMA Scholarships
  • Post Matric scholarship scheme is central Sector scheme with 100% central funding and is implemented by the State Government, UT Administration.

The Ministry of Minority Affairs was created on January 29, 2006 by the Government of India.






Eligibility Criteria



  • Class 11 & 12, UG, PG, M.Phil, Ph.D, Diploma Students
  • The income of parents from all sources must not exceed INR of 2,00,000.
  • The scheme covers those students who have secured at least a 50% marks in the previous examination. 
  • The student must be from the notified minority community in India that is Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists and Zoroastrians (Parsis)





Application Mode and Process


The post matric scholarship scheme has been announced by the state government through daily newspapers and journals.


There will be only online application for post matric scholarship scheme and no offline applications would be accepted.











Selection Process


  • The distribution of the scholarship in a state/UT will be made on the basis of the population in state/UT according to Census 2001.
  • The selection will be made strictly on the merit basis.
  • Reservation for girls: 30% of the scholarship will be made available to girl students, and if in case the required number of eligible girls are not available then the balance scholarships may be distributed to boy candidates. 
  • Preference: Students of BPL families will be given preference, the student with the lowest annual family income will be given importance followed by others.
  • After the scholarships are sanctioned the state/UT will publish the details of the selected students on the website of state/government/UT concerned






Reward


  • The post matric scholarship scheme 2015 will cover the full tuition fee of the course and that would directly be credited to the bank account of the school/college/ university/institution.
  • The maintenance allowance will be given for only 10 months in an academic year and will directly be credited into the student's bank account. 
  • As for the renewals, there is no target for them.
