National Standard Examination in Astronomy (NSEA) is an examination for the school students of up to class 12, conducted annually.This contest is first of its kind and the Only Screening Test leading towards the International Olympiad and thus, offers participants an opportunity to enrich their educational skills.

Eligibility Criteria
- Academic Qualification: Student should be in class 12 or lower as of November 30, 2015
- Age: Students participating in NSEA 2015 should be born on or after January 1996
Application Mode and Process
Students can register themselves through their respective schools if participating or at the nearest NSEA center.

Registration Fee: The candidates willing to participate in NSEA 2015 examination, should pay the examination fee of Rs. 100 in cash to the Centre In-charge. No cash should be sent along with the Application form.
Selection Process
Students will be shortlisted based on the marks attained in the NSEA Examination.
Syllabus of the senior secondary level of CBSE up to class 12 is recommended for the preparation of the NSEA examination. Subjects such as Physics (calculus not expected), Mathematics and Elementary Astronomy will be given greater importance for the examination purpose.
Language of Examination: English
Examination Pattern: Question paper will contain 80 multi choice questions with the four answers each.
Reward
Students on qualifying the NSEA contest will be eligible for participating in Indian National Astronomy Olympiad that is the second subsequent stage for participation in International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics 2015.
