HSEE is for admission to the five-year integrated Master of Arts (M.A.) program at IIT Madras for admission in Integrated MA.
HSEE 2016 is for admission into the two following courses, The first two years of the curriculum are common to all students, after which they branch out into one of the two streams
- Integrated M.A. in English Studies
- Integrated M.A. in Development Studies
- Total Number of Seats: 46 (23 seats in each stream)

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates applying for HSEE 2016 should have either completed or should be appearing in 2016 in any one of the following qualifying examinations (QE)
- The final examination of the 10+2 (minimum 60%) system, conducted by any recognized Central / State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi; etc.

Payment of Fees
- The fees must be paid through the Indian Bank challan generated online during the application registration process.
- Through Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card: Fee can also be paid through online mode by following the instructions after which candidates can print the acknowledgement page.

- SC/ST/PwD (male)- Rs. 800
- General / OBC (male)- Rs. 1600
- Female candidates (All categories)- Rs. 800
Examination Centers
The Entrance Examination is conducted in Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Thiruvananthapuram.
Selection process
- Student will be selected on the basis of their performance in the Entrance Exam
- HSEE Result 2016 is expected to be declared in May, 2016 on HSEEE Website
Exam pattern
- Duration: three hours duration
- The HSEE 2016 has two parts.
Part I consists of objective type multiple choice questions for 2½ hours duration (150 Minutes) administered through computer.
- Part I (Computer Based Test) will involve following
