National Finance Olympiad 2016

About


National Finance Olympiad 2016 is being organized by International Institute of Financial Markets and sponsored by Economic Times.


Finance Olympiad is an initiative to make young kids familiar with the need and art of managing money. It is expected that gradually the adolescents shall inculcate the habit of analyzing finance in their day to day life, shall strive for savings and shall also invest their available resources to multiply their worth so that they have comfortable resources for their future endeavors.


The individuals can participate individually or through their schools.

One time registration fee is Rs. 800/- which includes:


  • A Set of 3 Books
  • Across to an online account which includes explanatory videos, question bank and finance related quizzes
  • Certification at respective levels
  • Subscription of Finance Olympiad Express - The Online daily newsletter.


Eligibility Criteria


  • Gender: Both
  • Region: All India
  • Class/ Age: Class  8 to 12

Details: 

Academic qualification: The students from class 8 to 12 can participate in the National Finance Olympiad 2016 in any of the three levels:


  • Level 1- Gold@13: students from class 8,9,10 will compete in this group
  • Level  2- Gold@15: Students from class 11 and 12 will participate in this group.
  • Level 3- Gold@18: University students between the age group of 17-22 year Classroom training.

Note: Students from science stream can also participate in the Finance Olympiad 


Reward


The winners of the NFO will be rewarded with cash prize along with other mementos. The details are as follows

  • Winners will be felicitated with Awards, Trophy, Memento and Certificated on the same day
  • opportunity to participate in a national level competition which includes scholarship of more than 1.6 lakhs and media recognition.


Benefits for School



  • School with maximum student participation will be awarded the title of ''Finance Gurukul'' and a cash prize of Rs. 20,000/-. The Principal and Coordinator will be invited for the award felicitation ceremony in New Delhi.
  • Grand Finale event will be covered by media and will be attended by top Academicians and Industry Leaders.
  • The School Principal and Coordinator will receive a Letter of Appreciation from NFO Association.
  • Schools will be entitled for a certain amount for conducting the administrative activities. Also, an additional fee will be paid to the school for undertaking the test invigilation.


How to Apply


Students can participate in the National F O 2016 either as an individual or via school. The details of the application process are as follow:

Once the affiliation process is complete, interested students can fill the application form. 

The books and study material will be sent to the school for all registered students.



Fees 


The participants are required to pay a participation fee of Rs. 800 to be a part of the NFO. The fee can be paid through following methods:


  • By individual students: Individual participants can submit their fee using Credit/Debit card or net banking for online paymnet or via cash on the following address:

  • For schools: Schools are required to make payment of the fee via Demand Draft, drawn in favor of 'International Institute of Financial Markets Ltd.' payable at New Delhi.

Selection Process


School Olympiad round (Round 1)

  • All registered students will be giving this examination.
  • Olympiad to be held between: August to October 2016

(School authorities can select any date in between these months and intimate the organizers about the same)


  • Duration of the examination: 40 mins.
  • Venue: School premises.
  • Students will receive participation certificate and score card for appearing in this examination.

Regional Round (Round 2)


  • The students who appeared for the School Round would be shortlisted for the Regional Round based on their scores.
  • Regional Round would take place at a certain venue in all the regions across India for all the shortlisted students in the month of November or December. 
  • The exact date of the examination would be informed to the schools in 15 days advance.

National Grand Finale (Final Round)


  • There should be at least 2 participants from each level i,e. Gold@13 and Gold@15 representing a single school in the Regional Round.
  • Scores of top 2 students from both the levels would be taken into consideration for announcing the National Qualifying Team.

  • National Round (Grand Finale): January 2017
