IIT UCEED 2017 - Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design

About

Admissions to the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) Programmes at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati and IIITDM Jabalpur are done through the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) 2017.

Students who have passed Class XII (or equivalent) in 2016, or appearing in 2017, in ANY STREAM (Science, Commerce, or Arts & Humanities) are eligible to appear for UCEED 2017 

UCEED is for admission into following programmes

• Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programme- 4 years

• Dual degree B.Des + M.Des Programme- 5 years

The option of doing the dual degree B.Des + M.Des will be available at the end of the 3rd year to the students.

UCEED is a design entrance exam for admission to the B.Des programme at the Industrial Design Centre (IDC), IIT Bombay and IIT Guwahati.

Seats in IIT Bombay B.Des Program: The total number of seats sanctioned for both these programmes together are 30 seats.

General

Allotment: 50.5%
Seats: 14+1 PwD

OBC

Allotment: 27%
Seats: 8

SC 

Allotment: 15%

Seats: 5

ST

Allotment: 7.5%

Seats: 2

Total= 30 seats

Eligibility Criteria 

• Gender: Both

• Age limit: Candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 1997, if beloning to the general category (October 1, 1992, incase of SC, ST or PwD category)

• Academic qualification: Candidate should have passed their class 12 or equivalent examination in 2016 or will appera in 2017. students from any stream that is commerce, arts, science can apply for the course. 

• UCEED Number of attempts: candidate can take UCEED a maximum of two times and that too in consecutive years. UCEED score is valid for one year, and only for admissions in the corresponding academic year.

How to apply

The registration for UCEED is completely online and can be done on UCEED’s online portal www.uceed.in only. 

Applicants must satisfy all of the above mentioned eligibility criteria and the application cannot be withdrawn after registration is completed. 

Application fee is NEITHER refundable NOR transferable. 

Admit Card

Candidates whose application is complete in all aspects will be able to download the admit card for UCEED 2017 from the online application portal (www.uceed.in) from the date specified below.

Fees

Following is the application fee structure for UCEED 2017: 

For General/OBC-NCL Category: 

• Rs.2000/- (Male); Rs.1000/- (Female) and Rs.2000/- (Third) 

For SC/ST/PWD Category: 

• Rs.1000/- (Male); Rs.1000/- (Female) and Rs.1000/- (Third) 

The application fee shown above DOES NOT INCLUDE service charges, processing fees and any other charges that the banks may charge. 

A late fee of Rs.500/- is applicable to ALL candidates for applications done after that, and till the late application closing date of 18th November 2016 (23:45 hours)

IIT Bombay B.Design Fee Structure

Per semester fee structure is- Rs. 1,14,750

Total Course fee- Rs. 9,18,000 (For 4 years course)

Total Course fee- Rs. 11,14,750 (for 5 years course)

Exam Pattern 

UCEED-IIT 2017 exam will be conducted in the 22nd January 2017 the exam pattern is given below. One thing which a candidate should do is take the print of admit card, only then he/she will be entertained for exam.

• There will be ONE question paper of 3 hours duration 

• The question paper will be in English 

• The question paper will be administered through a computer based test 

• The question paper will carry a total of 300 marks

• The question paper will contain a total of 80 questions distributed among the 6 topics.

• All 3 sections have NEGATIVE marking
