AMU MBBS / BDS Medical Entrance Exam is conducted every year by Aligarh Muslim University for admissions in Dental and Health Sciences courses in Aligarh Muslim University

Course Details

Duration of the Courses

• For MBBS - 4 ½ Years for the MBBS Course

• For BDS - 4 years & 1 year Compulsory Rotatory Internship for BDS

Number of seats offered on the basis of AMU MBBS/BDS 2016

• UG Medical- The intake for MBBS is 140. In addition, 05 seats are set apart for Physical Challenged Category (Persons with Disabilities)

• UG Dental - The intake for BDS is 34. In addition, 01 seat is set apart for Physical Challenged Category

AMU MBBS BDS 2016 Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination of this University or an examination recognized by the University as its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English

• Candidate must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology

• Age Limit - Applicant should not less than 17 years as on 31st December in the year of admission

AMU MBBS BDS Selection Process 2016

The Selection/Admission Process will be strictly based on Merit of AMU Medical Exam 2016For being eligible for the selection process, a candidate must score at least 50% marks 

i.e. 100/200 in AMU MBBS/BDS Entrance Exam 2016

AMU MBBS Exam Pattern 2016

There shall be one objective type paper of 200 marks comprising 200 questions on Chemistry, Physics, Botany and Zoology

• There shall be a Combined Admission Test for admission to MBBS and BDS. Candidates applying for MBBS can also apply for admission to BDS on the same Application Form without paying any additional Test Fee. They should clearly indicate in their Application Form their choices in order of preference

• Selected candidates will have to go through medical fitness examination before completing the admission

• The Tier-1 of the Admission Test will be conducted in AMU Campus as well as in all the outside Admission Test Centres of AMU, as approved by the Academic Council and Tier-2 will be held only in AMU Campus at Aligarh

• In the Tier-2 Admission Test System for MBBS/BDS, the chance to appear for the Tier-2 Test will be given to 30% of the candidates in order of merit who appear in the Tier-1 Test, in each category of general and internal candidates, subject to a maximum of 15000 candidates, which is the capacity of the University to accommodate. In case an exceedingly large number of candidates appear, the percentage may equitably be reduced, to keep the ceiling to a maximum of 15000 candidates

Candidates applying for MBBS/BDS can also apply for admission to BDS/MBBS on the same Application Form without paying any additional Test Fee

It can be paid by way of a Demand Draft from a Nationalized Bank drawn in favour of Finance Officer, AMU, Aligarh payable at Aligarh or Online through Internet Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card or by Local Bank Challan issued from Canara Bank, AMU Campus, Aligarh/ICICI Bank (Extension Counters) at AMU Campus, Aligarh [Physically Challenged/Blind candidates need not deposit any Application Fee]
