Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi invites applications from eligible candidates for admission to the B.E. Programme2016 at BIT Deoghar, BIT Jaipur and BIT Patna Campuses and B.Arch. Programme at BIT Patna Campus to fill the seats through Institutional Counselling for the session 2016-17.

Admissions to the 4-year (8-semester) B.E. Programme offered by the Birla Institute of Technology at Deoghar, Jaipur and Patna Campuses and 5-year [10-semester] B.Arch. Programme offered by the Birla Institute of Technology at Patna Campus.
The above programmes will commence in August 2016
Duration of the Programme
Duration of the 4-Year (8-Semester) Full-Time BE Programme and 5-Year (10-Semester) Full-Time B.Arch Programme.
Eligibility Criteria
Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1 October 1991 are eligible for admission. However, in the case of SC/ST and PwD candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates who were born on or after 01st October 1986 are eligible for admission
Date of Birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board (Class X, High School) certificate only will be taken as authentic.
Candidate must have passed in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII), or its equivalent, referred to as the qualifying exam. Subject combinations required in the qualifying exam for admission to B.E. & B.Arch Programmes shall be as under:
Course Required Criteria based on Class 12th/Other Qualifying Exam
B.E. Subjects in Qualifying Exam: Physics, Mathematics and one of the subjects from (Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology) along with 50% marks in total including all subjects
B.Arch. Mathematics subject along with 50% marks in total including all subjects
Candidate must have appeared in JEE (Main) 2016 and should have secured a valid overall AIR (CRL) in JEE (Main) 2016 [Paper-1 for B.E./B.Tech. and Paper-2 for B.Arch.]
BC-I /BC-II of Jharkhand State for admission at BIT Deoghar Campus: The candidates must have passed their qualifying exam from the State of Jharkhand and should be BC-I/ BC-II of Jharkhand State only. A certificate should have been issued on or after 01st April 2015
BC-I /BC-II of Bihar State for admission at BIT Patna Campus: The candidates must have passed their qualifying exam from the State of Bihar and should be BC-I /BC-II/ BC Girls of Bihar State only. A certificate should have been issued on or after 1st April 2015
Candidates with foreign diplomas should see the EdCIL website for equivalence www.edcil.co.in, and if required should obtain an equivalence certificate from the evaluation division of the AIU (website www.aiuweb.org)
Selection Procedure
The provisional selections will be based on overall All India Rank in JEE (Main) 2016 conducted by CBSE, provided candidates meet the age criteria and other minimum academic requirements as above
How to Apply
To start online application, click on the link; create ‘username’ and ‘password’ when prompted. Do not share the username and password with anybody else
To apply for the B.E. & B.Arch. Programmes, eligible candidates must complete and submit the application form online only (The link is available on Institute website www.bitmesra.ac.in)
Pay application fee of Rs.2500/- (General/OBC candidates) or Rs.1500/- (SC/ST candidates) through State Bank Collect – Net banking or Debit/Credit Card of any nationalized bank in favour of “Birla Institute of Technology” within the given time period
[Fee once remitted shall not be refunded under any circumstances]
Candidates can use the Online Application Form to apply for the B.E. Programme 2016 of the Institute at BIT Deoghar, BIT Jaipur and BIT Patna Campuses, in order of preference by selecting the Campus (choice of place for study) and branches from the prompt. However, you must select your wanted preference before you submit the form online
The choices must be filled-in carefully in prudential order since choices, once filled-in, and cannot be modified after submission of application form throughout the counseling
Candidates can use the Online Application Form to apply for the B.Arch. Programme 2016 of the Institute at BIT Patna Campus only

- Filling of Online Form closes at 07.00 pm on 15th July 2016
- Display of Merit List: 16th July 2016
- First Round of Seat Allotment: 17th July 2016
- Reporting for Admission & Documents Verification against 1st round of seat allotment at any of the Campus (BIT Jaipur or BIT Deoghar or BIT Patna): 17th to 19th July 2016
- Second Round of Seat Allotment: 21st July 2016
- Reporting for admission & documents verification against 2nd round of seat allotment at any of the Campus (BIT Jaipur or BIT Deoghar or BIT Patna): 21st July 2016 to 23rd July 2016
- Third Round of seat allotment: 25th July 2016
- Reporting for admission & documents verification against 3rd round of seat allotment at any of the Campus or BIT Jaipur or BIT Deoghar or BIT Patna): 25th to 27th July 2016
- Fourth Round of seat Allotment: 29th July 2016
- Reporting for admission & documents verification against 4th round of seat allotment at any of the Campus or BIT Jaipur or BIT Deoghar or BIT Patna): 29th to 31st July 2016
