Small Hand Big Art Exploration 2016

Small Hand Big Art is giving an opportunity to explore Children’s Art and to take pleasure in their creativity. By doing such things they wanted to draw the attention of teachers, children’s, their parents, and Society in the direction of Arts. Small Hand Big Art going to conduct Annual Art Exploration 2016 to encourage the children who have talent in Arts.

Small Hand Big Art main Motto is encourages the Children, and gives them Guidance in such field. They will be put their arts in premium art galleries and this Gallery is going to be watch by who are in Fine Arts field, senior artist, and Senior Faculty members of fine art colleges, gallery owners, Art curators and Critics.

Art exploration is open for school students who belong to the age of 5 to 17 years. The participation will be under 4 categories:


  • Category A: 5-8 years
  • Category B: 9-12 years
  • Category C: 13-15 years
  • Category D: 16-17 years


The participation in the competition is through the means of school only, interested schools will conduct a session at their own forward the entries to the organizers.
50 winners across India will be awarded for their excellence in Art.

Eligibility Criteria


  • Gender: Both
  • Region: All India
  • Class/Age: students of age group 5-17 years

Details 


  • Nationality: This competition is open for all Indian schools
  • Age: The candidates need to be younger than 17 years and older than 5 years.
  • Academic Qualifications: The candidate needs to be a school student.

Reward


150 winners across India will be awarded for their excellence in Art. Certificate of Participation for all applicants


The award will be as follows:
  • 25 winners each in categories A and B
  • 50 winners each in categories C and D
All 150 winners to get cash awards of Rs 2000 each and certificate of merit.
  • Winners of Category C and D will be invited to attend a sponsored Workshop in one of the most prestigious Fine Art Institutes of India.
  • Category C and D Winners attending the workshop will be reimbursed a fixed amount towards expense incurred for travel to the workshop.
  • Appreciation Certificate to Schools who Participate.


How to Apply


No need for formal invitation to schools and for application forms to be filled out. 
Schools to conduct Small Hand Big Art’s Annual Art Exploration 2016 session during school hours on any day of their choice while event is Open.

  • ONLY those Art Work that has been made during Annual Art Exploration 2016 session conducted at school, should be sent.
  • All Art Works need to be made on paper sheets of A3 size ONLY (29.7 x 42.0cm). No canvas paintings will be accepted.
  • Keeping pace with the Pulse of our nation, we propose the theme of 'Swachh Bharath'. This will encourage children to make a difference towards a 'Swachh Bharath' in their own small way. However, children are free to choose any theme of their choice.

  • Each student can submit a maximum of 3 Art Works.

  • The entry fee for each Art Work submitted is Rs 150/-.Therefore fee for 2 entries would be Rs 300/- and for 3 entries would be Rs 450/-

  • School to retain Rs 10 per Applicant towards following expenses incurred - Demand draft charges, Cost of A3 size paper provided to children and Speed Post charges. Therefore Rs 140 per Art Work has to be sent to organizers of Small Hand Big Art’s Annual Art Exploration. 



Each Art Work to have the following details mentioned clearly at the back:

  • Name of School
  • Name of child
  • Category (based on age A: 5-8 years, B: 9-12 years, C: 13-15 years, D: 16-17 years)
  • Phone number of Art Teacher/ School


School to send a printed list of all children who are sending Art Work along with following details:

Name of School, address and phone number of Art Teacher clearly mentioned on top of each sheet.


  • Complete Name of Child.
  • Category (based on age A: 5-8 years, B: 9-12 years, C: 13-15 years, D: 16-17 years)
  • Contact number of Parent. 
  • School to make a Demand Draft for application fee collected (Rs 140 x Number of Art Work submitted), in favor of ‘KALAABUZZ PVT LTD' payable at Bangalore


School to send all the Art Work and Demand draft - TOGETHER - in one single packet, to our address:

Selection Process


The Art Work is judged by a panel of prominent judges who are luminaries in the field of Fine Art and winners in each category are declared.


  • Ms Brinda Miller - Senior Artists and Chairperson Kalaghoda Art Festival
  • Prof Sashidharan Nair - Faculty of Fine Art, MS University, Baroda
  • Ms Yamini Telkar - Jaya He art program, An initiative by GVK group of companies
  • Ms Geeta Maini - Owners and founder Gallery G
  • Prof Shepal - Sir JJ Institute of Applied Art



Important Dates


  • Last date to apply is October 31, 2016
  • Result of the competition will be declared on January 31, 2017.
