The SRM University (Sri Ramaswamy Memorial University), formerly SRM Institute of Science and Technology, is a co-educational private university in the state of Tamil Nadu, India.

SRM University will conduct the common entrance examination SRMJEEE 2017 in the month of April starting from April 1, 2017.  SRMJEEE is the common entrance exam conducted by SRM University for admission to undergraduate engineering courses.  The entrance exam will be held at 120 centres across the country.

SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMJEEE) for B.Tech is common for SRM Group of Universities viz., SRM University and SRM University HARYANA.

Eligibility Criteria

• Nationality: The applicant should be an Indian resident. 

• Minimum 65% aggregate in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry

• Candidate should have studied in schools located in India in the preceding two years for admission to Undergraduate program.

• Candidate Should have studied in educational institutions in India and completed their qualifying examination.

• B.Tech: A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent and (i) For all programs: Minimum 65% aggregate in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry (ii) For Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics and Genetic Engineering: Minimum 65% aggregate in Mathematics /Biology, Physics and Chemistry and other campuses and SRM University Haryana: 60% aggregate in PCM or PCB

• Visit www.srmuniv.ac.in and apply online. Physical applications (Hard Copy) are NOT permitted. It is not sold at any point of sales within or outside the campus 

• The Application cum Entrance Examination Fee is Rs.1060/- per slot 

• Online with Demand Draft: Application to be filled online by visiting www.srmuniv.ac.in  and the same can be downloaded and sent to us with the DD for Rs.1000/- drawn in favour of SRMIST, payable at Chennai 

• This has to reach us before the last date specified. Candidates should write their name and address on the reverse of Demand Draft and send to

Application Fees

Candidates are required to pay Rs. 1000 towards the Application Charges

Selection process

• Candidates will be invited for counseling session based on the score obtained in SRMJEEE (UG) 

• One or more counseling sessions will be held depending on the vacancy of seats 

• Candidates can choose their preferred specialization/branch of study in a particular campus based on 

(a) the cut-off score for the specified specialization/branch 

(b) fulfilling the programme-specific eligibility criteria for a particular campus and 

(c) subject to the availability of seats at that point of time 

• If a candidate falls short of the cut-off score for a preferred specialization/branch for a particular campus, the candidate can choose to retake the SRMJEEE (UG) to improve the individual score, subject to a maximum of TWO retakes 

• In that case the best score out of the three scores (first attempt +2 retakes) will be considered while choosing/allocating the preferred specialization/branch, subject to the conditions laid out.

• Upon selection of specialization /branch full tuition fees and other applicable fees have to be paid at the time of counselling. 

• Provisional Allotment Letter (PAL) will be issued to confirm the candidate’s admission 

Exam pattern

i) General: Question paper will be only in English

ii) Questions are of objective type

iii) Each question has 4 alternate answers

iv) The correct answer has to be chosen and the appropriate oval should be shaded

Part 1- Physics - 35 Question

Part 2- Chemistry - 35 Question

Part 3- Mathematics - 35 Question

Part 4- Biology - 50 Question

Negative marking:  ‘1’ mark will be deducted for every wrong answer in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and ‘0.7’ for every wrong answer in biology.
