NEET UG 2017- Tentative dates announced


About


The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2017 for Undergraduate Graduates courses is likely to be held on May 7 at various test centres across the nation.


The exam was conducted for admissions to MBBS/BDS courses in medical/dental colleges run with an approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.


NEET Score is not accepted for MBBS admission in AIIMS and JIPMER. All the seven AIIMS Institutes in the country will take MBBS admission on the basis of AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam.


Recent update on NEET -UG:


  • The NEET-UG will be conducted in six additional languages from the commencing academic session 2017-18, a statement released by the Union Health Ministry
  • The six languages in which the exams will be conducted are Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu and Tamil apart from conventional English, Hindi
  • In addition to this, candidates qualifying for NEET will be eligible to an all-India quota and other quotas under the state governments/ institutes, irrespective of the medium in which the exam is taken by the candidate.

Eligibility Criteria



  • Nationality: You need to belong to Indian Nationals or OCI (Overseas Citizen of India).
  • Age Limit: Minimum – You need to be a minimum of 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission.
  • Maximum – You should not be more than 25 years of age for general category and 30 years of age for reserved category.
  • Qualification: You need to have cleared of currently appearing class 12th or its equivalent examination from any recognized board with Chemistry, Physics, Bio-technology/Biology or any other elective subject with English.
  • Percentage Criteria: You need to have secured at least 50% marks in PCB group for general category candidates, 45% for general PH candidates and 40% for ST/SC/OBC category candidates.



Seat Reservation for NEET 2017 Exam



  • SC (Schedule Caste) 15%
  • ST (Schedule Tribe) 7.5%
  • OBC–Non Creamy Layer 27%
  • Physically Handicapped (PH) 3% seats (on horizontal basis)



How to Apply


Candidates can apply for NEET MBBS Admission 2017 exam through online process only

  • The application forms would be tentatively available in the first week of December 2016.
  • You need to make sure you fill up the application form as per the mentioned instructions.


After you fill up the application form you need to send the confirmation page along with the necessary documents to the address which is mentioned below:

Application Fees for NEET Exam 2017

Candidates can make the necessary fee payment either through online or offline process:


  • Online process: You can pay the necessary fees through debit/credit card using online payment gateway.
  • Offline process: You can make the payment through bank challan.


Exam Pattern


The examination would be conducted in the first week of May 2017. Below we have mentioned the NEET 2017 exam pattern:


  • Courses: Conducted for BDS/MBBS courses
  • Number of Questions: 180 multiple choice questions
  • Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Zoology & Botany
  • Language: English or Hindi
  • Mode of Exam: Offline mode (pen and paper based mode)
  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Marking Scheme: 4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer as negative marking.



NEET 2017 Syllabus



  • NEET syllabus would consist of 4 subjects, i.e. Chemistry, Physics, Zoology and Botany.
  • Questions would be asked from the above mentioned subjects only.
  • It will contain 11th & 12th board (NCERT & CBSE) academic syllabus.
  • Few questions would be asked from the other boards syllabus.



NEET UG Result 2017




  • The CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) is liable to organize NEET exam, evaluate answer sheet and declare the result. The results would be declared in the first week of June 2017(tentative). 
  • The actual dates would be updated to candidates after it is released. Separate result list would not be declared for ST/SC category candidates.

  • last date to submit the application form (without late fee): First week of January 2017
  • last date to submit the application (with late fee): last week of January 2017
  • Date of Examination: First week of may 2017
