UPES Engineering Aptitude Test UPESEAT 2017 Notification and Dates have been announced. University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun is inviting online applications for UPESEAT 2017 (University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Engineering aptitude Test) for admission to Undergraduate B.Tech Programmes for the academic year 2017.
The UPES Engineering Admission Test is known as UPESEAT that is being held for session 2017 admissions
Courses Offered
UPES-College of Engineering Studies (CoES) offers 4 years full time B. Tech Programmes and 6 years full time B. Tech + LLB (Hons) Programmes
This year, UPESEAT will be held for admission into 37 B.Tech Courses:
- Oil & Gas - Applied Petroleum Engineering with Specialization in Upstream; Applied Petroleum Engineering with Specialization in Gas Stream; Chemical Engineering with specialization in Refining & Petrochemicals; Geo-Informatics Engineering; Geo-Science Engineering and Mining Engineering
- Power: Power System Engineering; Electrical Engineering; Electronics Engineering; Electronics Engineering with Specialization in Broadband Communication Technology; Electronics Engineering with Specialization in Instrumentation

UPESEAT 2017 Eligibility Criteria
- For B. Tech Programmes: Candidates should have scored a minimum of 60% marks at the Higher & Senior Secondary level with a minimum aggregate of 60% in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at the Senior Secondary level (Class 12)
- For the B.Tech+LLB (Hons) Programmes: Candidates should have scored a minimum of 50% marks at the Higher & Senior Secondary level with a minimum aggregate of 50% in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at the Senior Secondary level (Class 12)
Age Limit: In order to be eligible to apply for admissions, the date of birth of the candidate should fall on or after 01st October 1995. Date of Birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board only will be taken as authentic
Educational Requirements for candidates applying through the Non-Exam Pathway:
Up to 20% of the seats that are available for admissions will be filled in through Board Merit and the Merit of candidates in the JEE Main Exam. Candidates applying for admissions through the Non-Exam Pathway will have to fulfill the following educational requirements:
For Board Merit: Students should have secured a minimum of 80% marks at the Higher & Senior Secondary level with a minimum aggregate of 80% in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at the Senior Secondary level (Class 12)
For JEE Main Merit: A minimum of 60% marks at the Higher & Senior Secondary level is essential along with a minimum aggregate of 60% in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at the Senior Secondary level (Class 12). A cut-off rank for JEE Main will also be declared soon after the results of the same have been published
Selection Procedure for UPESAT 2017
The selection procedure is based on score of the candidate in UPESEAT 2017 followed by central counselling or Centralized Counseling through Merit rank for Non Exam Category
UPESEAT 2017 Paper Pattern
The exam will have five sections:
a. Physics: 50 questions
b. Chemistry: 50 questions
c. Maths: 50 questions
d. English Language Comprehension: 30 questions
e. Current Affairs Awareness: 20 questions
Total: 200 questions
Exam Duration: 3 hours

Online: Candidates can apply online on the UPES Website and will need to remit application fees using Debit, Credit Cards or Net Banking
Offline: Candidates may purchase prospectus and application form from the designated admissions centres in Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai
The filled form along with the application fee should reach the office before May 3, 2017
Application Fees: Rs.1750/- in cash for Offline mode and Rs.1850/- for paying online or in the form of Demand Draft (DD)
Application Fee can be paid via: By card (online payment), in cash or in DD drawn in favour of "UPES Fee Account", payable at New Delhi, Dehradun along with a request letter
Exam Centres
The University is yet to inform regarding UPESEAT 2017 Exam Centres. However, you may have a brief overview of the examination centres of UPESEAT by those of the last year. They were Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chennai, Chandigarh, Delhi, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna, Varanasi, Vishakhapatnam, Shillong, Bhubaneswar, Ranchi and Cochin
Counselling
The UPESEAT 2017 Counselling Process shall be a centralized process with 80% of the seats reserved for UPESEAT 2017 qualifying candidates and the remaining 20% through Board Merit or JEE Main 2017 scores.
Candidates will have to attend UPESEAT 2017 Counselling Process in person with original certificates for document verification.
