Army Institute of Law (AIL) Mohali has invited applications for Entrance Test conducted &
coordinated by The Punjabi University, Patiala for admission to Integrated BA LLB (5 year) Courses for Academic Year 2017-18. Army Institute of Law - Law entrance test, AIL LET 2017 is conducted for BA LLB admissions.


Course Offered


B.A., LL.B (Five Year Course): By the time a student completes the five year integrated programme he/she is expected to be adequately equipped with knowledge of law required to become a full-fledged responsible member of the legal profession.

Intake


Total Seats - 80


  • Seats for Wards of Army Personnel - 60 Seats
  • Seats for All India General Category - 04 Seats
  • Seats for Punjab Residents Civil Category - 16 Seats
  • Out of 80 seats, written test for 64 seats (60 seats of wards of Army Personnel + 04 seats of All India General Category) will be conducted as under



Eligibility Criteria


  • Candidate who has passed 10+2 examination from Punjab School Education Board or any other equivalent examination recognized as such by the Punjabi University, Patiala, securing at least 45% marks vide Punjabi University Letter No.216468/Meeting-4 dated 7 May 2004. 
  • The applicants, who have obtained 10+2 through Open University systems directly, without having any basic qualifications for pursuing such studies, are not eligible for admission in Law Courses



Eligibility Criteria for Wards of Army Personnel


The eligibility criteria is laid down in the AWES Policy. The applicant accordingly must fall under one of the following categories:

  • Army Personnel
  • Adopted/step Ward and Ward of Remarried Widows
  • Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases

How to Apply



  • Admission to 60 seats for wards of army personnel will be done through entrance test conducted by AIL under the aegis of AWES.
  • Admission to 04 seats in the All India Category will also through the same entrance test.
  • Candidates for both Army and All India Category will be called for counselling as per merit in the written exam. Admission will be granted only if the candidate is found eligible on the day of counselling.
  • Admission to 16 seats in the Punjab Category will be based on 10+2 merits, drawn up by the nominated university as per the notification issued by Govt. of Punjab.




The Entrance Test will consist of a paper with 4 sections of two hours duration in a single sitting to be conducted as under:



  • The paper shall have objective type questions of a standard expected of 10+2 students.
  • There shall be No Negative Marking.
  • In the Entrance Test, answers shall be marked in the attached OMR response sheet.
  • The medium of Entrance Test is English.
  • In case, candidates secure identical marks in the final list, the candidate with higher marks in the qualifying examination will be preferred. In case of parity at this stage also, the candidate older in age shall be given preference.



Note:

  • Three options in the order of preference for Entrance test centre are to be filled in the application cum admission form.
  • Test center once opted shall not be changed.

  • Last date of submission of Application-Cum-Admission Form along with fees of Rs. 3000/- for Army and All India Civil categories* : 19 June 2017
  • Submission of Application-Cum-Admission Form with late fees of 1000/- for Army and All India Civil Categories: 23 June 2017
  • Date of Entrance Test for Army and All India Civil Categories : 2 July 2017
  • Date of Declaration of Result on or before (Online): 12 July 2017
  • First Counselling-cum-Admission for Army & All India Civil Categories: 18 July 2017
