DU Entrance based UG courses 2017

About


All the applicants seeking admission to the Undergraduate (UG) Programmes/Courses, for which the admission is based on Entrance Examination in different colleges  of the University of Delhi (DU), are required to register online at the following UG Entrance Based Admission portal.


The applicants who wish to be considered for admission to various Undergraduate Courses in different colleges of the University of Delhi based on entrance exam,  are required to register and apply online for all the categories, including unreserved (UR)/SC/ST/OBC. 

Applicants belonging to Minorities (where applicable) are also required to register online on the UG Entrance based Admission portal.


Applicants who wish to apply under supernumerary categories namely Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and Armed forces (CW) shall also apply online on the UG Entrance based admission portal.

Delhi University administration has decided to conduct entrance test for admission into few selected regular undergraduate programs namely:



Eligibility Criteria


For B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics, Bachelor in Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis)(BBA(FIA)) 

  • Aggregate of 60% marks in the qualifying examination based on a simple average of the percentage scored in four subjects: one language English, Mathematics and any two other subjects included
  • Mandatory subjects: One language English, Mathematics


B.Tech (Information Technology and Mathematical Innovation)

  • An aggregate of 60% marks in four subjects (including Mathematics) in the qualifying examination. 
  • Mandatory Subject: Mathematics For B.A. (Hons) Humanities and Social Sciences: An aggregate of 60% marks in four subjects in the qualifying examination. 


For Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Health Education and Sports (B.Sc.[P.E.H.E.&S.)

  • An aggregate of 45%  marks in the qualifying examination determined on the basis of one language and three best subjects


For Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Multimedia and Mass Communication

  • An aggregate of 75% in the best four (including 85% in English) of the qualifying examination. Mandatory Requirement: 85% in English


For Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Hindustani MusicVocal/Instrumental (Sitar/Sarod/Guitar/Violin/Santoor), Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Karnatak MusicVocal/Instrumental (Veena/ Violin), Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Percussion Music (Tabla/Pakhawaj)

  • An Aggregate of 45% marks in the qualifying examination determined on the basis of one language (core/ elective) music and two more elective /academic subjects. 
  • Mandatory Subject studied and passed: Music



NOTE: In case the student has not studied Music as one of the subjects at the last qualifying Examination and is desirous of seeking admission to the Bachelors Degree with Music, must have learnt Music for not less than three years in a recognized institution/well-known Guru/Teacher.

Selection Process


For For B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics, Bachelor in Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis)(BBA(FIA))

Selection will be based on the rank computed from the combined weighted average of percentage scored in the All India Joint Entrance Test and the percentage scored in the qualifying examination where the weights are:

  • Entrance Test: 65%
  • Qualifying Examination: 35%


The percentage scored in the preparing the rank is calculated as the simple average percentage scored in the qualifying examination in four subjects: English, Mathematics and any two other subjects.


For B.Tech (Information Technology and Mathematical Innovation)

  • Selection/Admission will be done according to the merit list prepared on the basis of the marks secured  in the entrance test. 


For B.A. (Hons) Humanities and Social Sciences

  • Selection/Admission will be done according to the merit list prepared on the basis of the marks secured  in the entrance test. 


For Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Health Education and Sports (B.Sc.[P.E.H.E.&S.)
Selection/Admission will be based on the combined weighted average of percentage scored in the Entrance Test, Physical Fitness and sports proficiency where the weights are: 

  • Entrance test : 50 %
  • Physical Fitness Test: 20%
  • Sports Proficincy: 30%
  • Test type: MCQ. Total Questions: 100



NOTE: 

  • It is essential for every applicant to appear in all the Admission Criteria Components (Entrance Test, Physical Fitness and Sports proficiency) in order to be considered for final admission to the course.
  • Absence from appearing in any component will result in to the cancellation of the application and such applicant shall not be eligible to take up the subsequent test component.
  • The candidates called for Physical Fitness Test shall undergo all the subsequent test components of admission (Physical Fitness and Sports Proficiency) hereafter.


For Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Multimedia and Mass Communication

  • Selection/Admission will be done according to the merit list prepared on the basis of the marks secured  in the entrance test. 


For Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Music 

  • Selection/Admission will be done according to the merit list prepared on the basis of the marks secured  in the Practical entrance test. 
  • Practical Entrance Test will be conducted in the Department of Music, Faculty of Music & Fine Arts, University of Delhi.

Entrance Exam Pattern


For For For B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics, Bachelor in Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis)(BBA(FIA)):

The entrance exam will be of two hours duration based on Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) (four choices each) designed to evaluate the aptitude of the applicants. The following areas are included in the entrance test:

  • Quantitative Ability
  • Reasoning and Analytical Ability
  • General English
  • Business and General Awareness


There will 100 questions.Each correct answer will get a score of plus 4 marks, each wrong answer will get a score of minus 1 mark and a question not answered will get a score of zero marks.


For B.Tech (Information Technology and Mathematical Innovation) 

  • The Entrance test will be two hours duration and will be based on Mathematics, reasoning and Analytical abilities at 10+2 levels. 
  • The Entrance test is of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) format. 
  • There will be 100 questions. For each correct answer, a student shall score +4 marks and for each wrong answer there will be -1 mark.


For B.A. (Hons) Humanities and Social Sciences

  • The Entrance test will be two hours duration and will be based on General Awareness, Current Affairs, General Knowledge, Communication skills (English/Hindi), Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability at 10+2 levels. Test will be in MCQ format.


For Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Multimedia and Mass Communication

  • The Entrance test  will be two hours duration and will be based on General Awareness, Media Awareness, Current Affairs, English  Comprehension and Grammatical and Analytical Skills

Application Fee



  • For UR/OBC/CW/Minorities: Rs 500 (Non-refundable)
  • For SC/ST/PwD: Rs 250 (Non-refundable)


Payment of Application Fee



  • Application fee has to be paid during the Application Process through any on of the available Online payment options.
  • It may be noted that the application Process shall be completed only after realization of the online Application Fee.
  • Application fee will not be refunded/adjusted in any circumstance.



How to Apply



  • As a first time user, the applicant shall click on the button “Sign Up” under the head “New Registration"
  • In the “Login details”, an applicant shall input their email-id and password and confirm the same by typing them again.
  • The email-id will be used for  any future communication with the University for admission purpose. The email-id shall also serve as the applicant's login/username on the UG entrance based admission portal.
  • To fill the Online application form, the candidates have to fill in their personal, educational and course selction details.
  • Then the candidate will be follwoed to the Payment Gateway.





Important dates



  • Starting Date for Online Registration: 16th June 2017
  • Closing Date for Online Registration: 25th June 2017
  • Commencement of Classes: 20th July 2017
