National Institute of Design (NID) Entrance Examination is conducted annually by NID Ahmadabad for seeking admissions to various design courses at National Institute of Design, Ahmadabad, Gujarat.

Eligibility Criteria

• Age Limit: Upper age limit for candidates is 20 years of age (relaxable by three years for reserved category) on or before July 01, 2017

• For General Category: The candidates born before July 01, 1995 are not eligible

• For Reserved Categories: The candidates born before July 01, 1992 are not eligible

Admission is open to students who have passed or who will appear for qualifying examinations under the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalents like AISSCE/ IB/ ISC during the academic year 2016-17.

Specifications of the Photo and Signature

Photograph: Candidates have to upload scanned photograph as per instructions:

• Format: JPEG format

• Size: 100 kb size

• The photograph must be recent and should have been after 1 September, 2015

• The photograph must be taken against a white background.

• If you wear spectacles, glare on glasses is not acceptable in your photo. 

Signature specification

• Format: JPEG format

• Size: 100 kb size

• The signature must be scanned. Mobile phone photographs of signatures are not acceptable.

In case of DD to complete the application process, candidate have to send the DD and printout of your application form in a single envelope, so as to reach the following address before December 2, 2016.

Design Aptitude Test (DAT)

All candidates applying for B.Des and having made the necessary payment for registration online will be called for the Design Aptitude Test.

• Duration:  3 hours

• Medium: English

• Total Marks: 100

• The question paper will consist of both objective and subjective type questions.

Examination Centres:-

DAT will be conducted in the following cities in India: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Vijayawada. 

Fees

• Application Fee for General Candidates/OBC (Non creamy layer): Rs. 2000

• Application Fee for SC/ST/PH candidates: Rs. 1000

• Overseas (supernumerary): Rs. 2000
