Unbelievable and exciting as it may sound, it is also true - We are talking about "Sports as a Career" option.

So, all of you who love to beat the heat in the playground, can actually take it up as a career rather than just pursuing it as a hobby. The sports industry offers a plethora of opportunities to those interested, making it a rewarding as well as unique occupation. Eligibility Criteria

A 10+2 is mandatory for a graduation or certification program in Sports, preferably with Maths and Science. To enter the teaching forum in Sports education, one needs a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education (B.P. Ed) which is a 3 year course or a degree in Master of Physical Education which is a 2 year course after graduation

Career Prospects

Sports, today is a career that is associated with hard work, glamour as well as recognition. Over the various phases of the profession one has the option to experiment and try new wings. One can either choose to be a part of the main sport or game as a full-time player who is employed or sponsored by an organization or can become a trainer-coach-instructor for any sporting event or game. One can also work in a related field like a commentator, manufacturer or marketeer of sports related goods. One can also eye being a sports journalist after having gained experience over the years.

The Government sector as well as the private enterprises boasts of employing talented sportsperson, who represent them in various tournaments and win laurels for them. Once retired, sportsperson can also opt for the satisfying job of an umpire or a referee. Physical fitness specialists are also in huge demand for the booming Spa and Yoga industry. Physical education personnel are also preferred in Defense and Police Services.
