• Central Sector Scholarship Scheme for college & university is given by MHRD, Govt. of India to meritorious students who have passed Class 12. 

• The Scholarship is given on the basis of marks scored by students in Class 12 and no separate scholarship exam is conducted by the government for giving the scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

• Nationality: Candidate must be an Indian citizen belonging to non-creamy layer.

• Academic Qualification: Candidate must have passed the class 12 examination (Senior Secondary Certificate Examination 2015) conducted by CBSE, ISC or any of the state boards of India.

Application Mode and Process

Online registration: In order to make fresh applications for the scholarship, candidates are required to visit the National e-Scholarship portal to complete their applications.

Selection Process

• Within 5 weeks of class 12th result declaration all the state boards, CBSE & ICSE draw up a merit list of potential candidates for the scholarship on the basis of the marks obtained by candidates in their respective board examinations.
• The concerned authorities will write to the eligible students to confirm within 15 days whether they are willing to accept the scholarship.
• Only those candidates who show willingness within 30 days for the scholarship will be considered for the scholarship.

Reward

Scholarship will be distributed in the ratio of 3:2:1 among the pass outs of science, commerce and humanities in the following manner

• Graduation:-  Rs. 1000 per month

• Post-Graduation:- Rs. 2000 per month 

• In case of professional courses, candidate will get Rs.1000 per month for first 3 years and Rs.2000 per month in 4th and 5th year.

• In an academic year scholarship would be paid for 10 months.
