Post Matric Scholarship for ST students

About 

• Post Matric Scholarship for ST candidates is an attempt from Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government to provide equal growth and development opportunities to candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribe.

• Post Matric Scholarship for ST students is a scholarship funded by Central Government and administered with the help State & Union Territory Governments.

• The Scholarship provides financial assistance to students who are enrolled in studies after class 10 in India only.

Eligibility Criteria

• Nationality: The Scholarship is only for Indian Students only.

• Category: The student should belong to Scheduled Tribe category.

• Academic Qualification: to be eligible for the scholarship, the candidate should have cleared class 10 examination and get admission in any institution for further studies.

• Annual Family Income: Applicant’s annual family income from all sources should be less than Rs. 2.5 lakh.

• Number of Beneficiaries from a family: All children of the same parents are eligible for the benefit from the scholarship.

The Applications for the Scholarship are to be made through National Scholarship Portal.

Selection Process

On the basis of the course being undertaken by the candidate, it can be defined that from which group he/she belongs to:

Group 1

(i) Degree and Post Graduate level courses including M.Phil., Ph.D. and Post-Doctoral research in Medicine (Allopathic, Indian and other recognized systems of medicines), Engineering, Technology, Planning, Architecture, Design, Fashion Technology, Agriculture, Veterinary & Allied Sciences, Management, Business Finance /Administration, Computer Science/ Applications.

(ii) Commercial Pilot License (including helicopter pilot and multiengine rating) course.
(iv) C.A. /I.C.W.A./C.S./I.C.F.A. etc.
(v) M.Phil., Ph.D. and Post-Doctoral Programmes (D. Litt., D.Sc. etc.)
(vi) L.L.M.
(iii) Post Graduate Diploma courses in various branches of management & medicine.

Group 2

Graduate/ Post Graduate courses leading to Degree, Diploma, Certificate in areas like Pharmacy (B Pharma), Nursing (B Nursing), LLB, BFS, other para-medical branches

Group 3

All other courses leading to a graduate degree not covered under Group I & II eg. BA/B. Sc./B Com etc

Group 4

All post-matriculation level non-degree courses for which entrance qualification is High School (Class X), e.g. senior secondary certificate (class XI and XII); both general and vocational stream, ITI courses, 3 year diploma courses in Polytechnics, etc

Reward

The students selected for the scholarship will be entitled to the following benefits:

Group 1

• Hostlers - Rs.1200 pm
• Day Scholars - Rs. 550 pm

Group 2

• Hostlers - Rs.820 pm
• Day Scholars - Rs.530 pm

Group 3

• Hostlers - Rs.570 pm
• Day Scholars - Rs.300 pm

Group 4

• Hostlers - Rs.380 pm
• Day Scholars - Rs.230 pm
