International Photography Competition on Kerala

• International Photography Competition on Kerala is being organized by Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala in order to promote Tourism potential of Kerala.

• The International Photography Competition on Kerala is open for everyone irrespective of their nationality or proficiency as a photographer.

• Interested candidates can submit their pictures clicked during January 01, 2014 to December 31, 2015 in order to participate in the International Photography Competition on Kerala.

• There is no participation fee and the winners of the competition will get cash prizes worth Rs. 15 lacs.

Application Mode and Process

The candidates willing to participate in the International Photography Competition can register themselves on the official website of Kerala Tourism. The details of the application process are as follow:

Registration Form: The candidates can complete the registration process on the official website of Kerala Tourism.

Specification of the Photograph: The photograph to be submitted for the Photography Competition needs to be as per the following specifications:

• Theme: The theme of the photograph should support the promotion of tourism potential of Kerala and the photographs must portray Kerala in a positive manner.
• Number of Entries: Each participant can submit maximum 3 entries.
• The photographs must have been clicked during the period January 01, 2014 to December 31, 2015.
• Digital Manipulation: Digital Manipulation of photographs using software such as Photoshop is not allowed.
• The photograph must not contain any copyrighted third party material or content.

Submission of the Photographs: The photographs can be submitted once the registration process is completed. Photographs to be submitted needs to be as per the following criteria:

• Format:  JPEG.
• Size: Maximum 4 MB.
• Resolution: 72 dpi.
• Dimensions: 1000 pixels x 3000 pixels.

Selection Process

Judging Criteria: In order to decide the winner of the competition the following criteria will be followed:

• All the photographs will be published on the website of Kerala Tourism for the visitors to share and rate.
• While calculating the total score, 25% marks will be given on the basis of public rating while 75% marks will be as per the judging committee.

Reward

Out of the entries received, eight entries will be selected for the award of prizes. The details of the prizes are as follow:

• First Prize:  The winner of the First prize will get cash prize of Rs. 5 lacs.

• Second Prize: Cash Prize worth Rs. 3 lacs will be given to the entry selected as the winner of second prize.

• Third Prize: Rs. 2 lac will be awarded to the entry selected as the winner of third prize.

• Consolation Prize:  Five entries will be rewarded with consolation prize of Rs. 1 lac each.
