• Mahamana Malviya Scholarship 2016 is started by Banaras Hindu University, BHU Alumni Association, Ranchi to give the tribute to legendry Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya, the founder of Banaras Hindu University for the students of Class XI and XII of CBSE schools. The notification for BHU Alumni Mahamana Malviya Scholarship 2016 has been announced. 

• The last date for receipt of complete application in all respects in the office of Secretary, BHU Alumni Association shall be 20th January, 2016

• As a mark of honour and glowing tribute to its Alma mater and legendry founder, BHU Alumni Association, Ranchi, takes a first decisive step to proudly announces the launching of Merit-cum-means scholarship called "Mahamana Malviya Scholarship"

Eligibility Criteria

• The students of Class 11 and 12 are eligible for the award of scholarship; the selection of candidates for scholarship shall be based on the result; four (4) students (2 boys and 2 girls) of Class 11 shall be selected for the scholarship

• From Academic year 2014-15, two (2) students each from Class 11 and 12 shall be selected for the scholarship. Students scoring minimum 60% marks or more, CGPA 7, or B2 grade in all the subjects at the annual exams are eligible to apply

• Student’s parent/guardians annual income should not be more than Rs 100,000 (One lac)

• The students who are obtaining the scholarship from any other source are not eligible to apply

• The students should record minimum 75% attendance throughout the academic year. An Attendance certificate is needed form the principal of school in this regard

• Only one student will be granted the scholarship from a family in an academic year; the scholarship will be given for one-year duration, which is renewable after considering the all conditions for another one (1) year

Amount of Mahamana Malviya Scholarship

• Each selected students shall be provided with a maximum amount of Rs. Ten Thousand (10,000/-) in an academic year along with a citation

• The amount of scholarship shall be given through Account Payee Cheque in the name of selected students. The scholarship will be limited to students of CBSE schools of Ranchi Municipal area only

• Not more than 04 applications shortlisted by each school fulfilling the criteria should be sent to the BHU Alumni Association

• The shortlisted candidate or parents may be interviewed along with original certificates

Important Dates

• The last date for receipt of complete application in all respects in the office of BHU Alumni Association shall on 20th January 2016

• The scholarship shall be awarded to the students on the BHU Alumni Assocation Annual Day Function to be held on 20th February 2016
