About the Program
Indian Culinary Institute (ICI),Noida an autonomous body under the aegis of Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India has invited application for admission to the New B.Sc (Culinary Art) Program for the year 2016-17.
The Bachelor of Science Program in Culinary Art is offered jointly by the Indian Culinary Institute (ICI) and the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
The 3-year (Six Semester) Course equips students with all the required skills, knowledge and attitude to efficiently discharge responsibilities in the Hospitality sector as chef/ kitchen management.
The program also involves in-depth laboratory/ Kitchen work for students to acquire required knowledge and skill standards in the operational areas of Food Production, Food Handling, Hygiene and food safety standard. It also provides managerial inputs for kitchen management and food costing.
Eligibility Criteria
A pass in 10+2 system of Senior Secondary Exam or its equivalent with English as one of the subjects; candidate must have passed English as a subject of study (core/elective/functional) in the qualifying exam
Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent exam can also appear in ICI JEE 2016 on provisional basis. Provisional admission will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying exam (10+2 or its equivalent) is not submitted at the time of admission or latest by 30th Sept. 2016.
Qualifying Exams (10 + 2) Level for Indian Students
a) Plus two level exam in the 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education of any recognized Central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education & Council for Indian School Certificate Exam or State Boards of Secondary Education
b) Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Exam conducted by a recognized Board/ University
c) General Certificate Education (GCE) Exam (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level; high School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University
d) Any Public School/Board/University Exam in India or in a foreign country recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education
e) H.S.C. Vocational Examination approved by NCVT and SCVT of concerned state
f) Senior Sr. School Exam conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects including English as one of the Subjects, result of which should be available up to 30th Sept. 2016
Age Limit
For candidates from General and OBC categories, upper age limit is 22 years as on 01st August 2016. Candidates born on or after 01st August 1994 are eligible
In the case of SC/ST candidates, upper age limit is 25 years as on 01st August 2016; for SC/ST candidates born on or after 01st Aug.-1991 are eligible
Upper age limit for PwD shall be reckoned as per the category he/she belongs to i.e. Gen./SC/ST/OBC
Physical Fitness
All qualified candidates will have to submit a physical fitness certificate at the time of admission from a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format given at Annexure-1
Reservation of Seats
A certain percentage of seats are reserved for candidates belonging to certain categories as per Govt of India rules. For the SC & ST categories, 15% & 7.5% seats, respectively, are reserved in Central and State Govt. Institutes of Hotel Management

2. Reasoning and Logical Deduction - 30 Questions
3. General Knowledge & Current Affairs - 30 Questions
4. English Language - 60 Questions
5. Aptitude for Service Sector - 50 Questions
Total No. of Questions: 200
Question Paper will be bilingual i.e. in English and Hindi (except for the subject of English Language)
Marking Scheme for JEE Written Test
The Graded mark(s) will be awarded under Aptitude for Service Sector component in the following manner; the most appropriate answer carries 1.00, the next appropriate answer carries 0.75, the next to next appropriate answer carries 0.50 whereas the inappropriate answer shall carry negative mark of 0.25 to be deducted
Written Test Centres
Applicants should choose any one Test Centre from the following 21 test Centres for appearing in the Written Exam and indicate the same in the JEE Application Form in the appropriate column

Selection Process
Admission to the first year of B.Sc Culinary Art program is strictly based on the All India Rank (AIR) earned by the candidate in the written test of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)
Ranks are strictly based on the marks obtained by the candidates in written examination. No group discussion or interviews are involved

Application Fee for General & OBC Candidates is Rs.1000+ and for SC/ST/PD candidates, Rs.500/-; applications can be submitted online from 20th May to 28th June 2016 at website www.ici.nic.in
After submission of the application, the print out of the application (confirmation sheet) has to be taken; the confirmation sheet along with photograph, other documents and Demand Draft (DD in favour of ICI and payable at Noida), towards application fee should be sent to "Admission Cell of ICI, National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, A-34, Sector-62, Noida-201309" to reach there, lasted by 02nd July 2016.
