Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) Kolkata - Applications are invited for JUNIOR TALENT SEARCH TEST (JTST) & SENIOR TALENT SEARCH TEST (STST) for awarding JBNSTS Scholarships 2016

Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search Scholarship is one among the most prestigious scholarship in India awarded in the field of Basic Science (Hons), Engineering and Medicine for the students of West Bengal.

The Scholarship is provided on the basis of a talent search examination by Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS), Kolkata which is an Autonomous Registered Society under West Bengal Society Registration Act XXI of 1860.

Eligibility Criteria

For Senior Talent Search Test (STST) - 2016 Applicant

Students who have passed 10+2 examination in science category in 2016 and are aspiring to study Basic Sciences/Medicine/Engineering in West Bengal are eligible.

Those who have passed H.S. or equivalent examination in science category before 2016 are not eligible to apply

Pass course and Diploma course students shall not be eligible.

Final selection of scholar is subject to submission (in the month of September, 2016) of their proof of admission in the 1st year UG (Science (H)/ Engg. /Med) course in any institute of West Bengal

For Junior Talent Search Test (JTST) - 2016 Applicant

Students who have passed 10th standard examination in 2016 with minimum 75% marks/ equivalent C.G.P.A. (in aggregate) and currently studying in class XI in science stream (with at least subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Statistics, Electronics, Computer Science) in any school in West Bengal are eligible to apply.

Those who have passed 10th standard examination before 2016 are not eligible to apply

Scholarship Details

For Senior Talent Search Test (STST) - 2016

Duration of the scholarship is till the end of B.E. (4 years)/MBBS (4 ½ years)/M.Sc. degree (5 yrs)

A scholarship amount of Rs.1000/- per month & book grant of Rs.1000/- per year till the completion of their graduation (for Engineering & Medicine students)

Students of basic science will be eligible for DST-INSPIRE fellowship of Govt. of India and will get Rs. 60000/ as scholarship & Rs.20000/- as research grant per year till completion of their master’s degree.

For Junior Talent Search Test (JTST) – 2016

Duration of the scholarship is 2 years (Class XI and XII)

Scholarship amount is Rs.500/- per month, for two years (during 11th & 12th class) & one time book grant of Rs.1000/-

Downloadable Forms are Available at www.jbnsts.org or may be obtained by sending self-addressed stamped (Rs.10/-) envelope to JBNSTS, 1300 Rajdanga Main Road, Kolkata-700107 (West Bengal)

For hard copy application, please clearly mention either JTST or STST (as applicable) on the top of the envelope

Applicant may apply online through the designated link available in our website www.jbnsts.org where a non refundable application fee of Rs.200/- (for STST) OR Rs.100/- (for JTST) may be paid through Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card or may be deposited at any branch of SBI after generating the Challan (from internet)
