About
10th International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) is organized by SOF or Science Olympiad Foundation, which is a Non-profit organization.
From this year SOF has introduced two more Olympiad as follows:
- International Compant Secretaries (ICSO)
- International Sports Knowledge Olympiad (ISKO)
IMO is conducted by SOF and is a means to identify and encourage the mathematical creativity of children in schools across india and abroad.
- All students participating in IMO (1st level) get a math Quotient (MQ), giving their Score, School rank, City rank, State rank, International Rank and Percentile, As well as a certificate of Participation.
- SOF also generates a performance report for all participating schools known as School Mathematics Quotient.
- The IMO will be conducted on 2 dates i.e,. 1st Dec & 12th Dec 2016.
- International IMO: But if you are really a superb student of Mathematics then you should take regional Mathematical Olympiad and finally 6 students will be selected and they will represent india in 58th IMO (International Mathematics Olympiad) at Rio de Janerio, Brazil. These students are trained by Indian Stastical Institute. This Olympiad witness participation from more than 100 countries.

- Minimum of 10 students need to be registered from each school for feasibility reasons.
- Students should be registered through the schools only. Individula registration by the student is not accepted.

How to Apply
- The IMO is open to the students of classes 1 to 12.
- Prospectus containing the Registration forms are sent to all schools registered with SOF. Schools not registered may also request for prospectus by sending an e-mail at info@sofworld.org/ phone call. Schools must return the registration forms to SOF, duly filled in and complete in all respects by the due date.
- The school's coordinating teacher will generate the students' Roll Numbers as per the guidelines given. A copy of these roll numbers along with the Students' Registration Sheet (SRS) and School Registration Form (SRF) should be sent to the Foundation's office before the due date of submission of forms.
- A copy of these roll numbers along with the students registration and school registration sheet should be sent to the Foundation's office before August 31 2016.
- Foundation will register the applicant school and the students and dispatch question papers and guidelines for conducting the examination. Principals / teachers may please note that any school can be registered as a center for IMO.
- No fee is required from the institution to become a registered examination center. A minimum of 10 students need to be registered from each school for feasibility reasons.
- The IMO is conducted on two dates for Level 1. Each school may select a date for conducting the IMO as per its convenience. Each date of exam has a separate question paper.
- Students should register through their respective schools only. Individual registrations by students are not accepted.
Fees
A participation fee of Rs. 120 is charged from each student. The school shall retain Rs.20 per student per olympiad for its expenses as exam center.
- mode of payment of fees- the school can make the payment via Demand Draft or through NEFT/RTGS
- Demand Draft should be made in favour of Science Olympiad Foundation Payable at New Delhi.

Seletion Process
Selection of the student would be done on the basis of the exam.
Results of both the levels of IMO are declared within 6 weeks of the examination
The International Mathematics Olympiad is conducted at two levels:
Level 1: The first level of the test is organized in the respective schools of the participants during school hours.
- The Level 1 competition is an objective-type test of 60 minutes duration comprising 35 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions for class 1 to class 4 and 50 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions for class 5 to class 12.
The test will b in elglish language and will consist of following sections:
Section-1: Logical Reasoning
Section-2: Mathematical Reasoning
Section-3: Everyday Mathematics
Section-4:Achievers Section
CBSE, ICSE/ISC and State Board syllabus is followed for setting the test papers.
The exam is conducted during school hours.
Exam dates are December 1 & 12, 2016
Level 2: The qualifiers to second round would include the following:
- Top 5% of candidates class wise who has appeared for the 1st level exam.
- State wise top 10 rank holders class wise.
- Class topper where at least 10 students from a class appear in the exma & scores 75% qualifying marks.
