The Council of Architecture (COA) will conduct the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) 2017 on April 16, 2017, at various test centres across the country. NATA 2017 will be a paper based test for admission to 5 years Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degree course in various institutions across India.
National Aptitude Test in Architecture NATA is a national level exam organised by COA for admission to undergraduate courses in architecture like B.Arch offered by top institutes like NITs, IITs Govt. Institutions, Government-aided Institutions, Universities, Deemed Universities in the country.
This year, the exam is going to be held on April 16, 2017 for a single day in offline mode.
Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate must have passed the class 10th or SSC examination to be eligible for the exam.
- For admission to the B.Arch. course, the candidate must have qualified the aptitude test in Architecture and must have obtained at least 50% marks in the 12th class qualifying examination.
- The NATA score is applicable for 2 years only.
Exam Pattern
NATA 2017 Exam is in English Language and is divided into two parts that are Drawing tests and Aesthetic Sensitivity Test.
Drawing Test
- It is a 2 hour duration paper, where the candidate has to attempt three questions.
Aesthetic sensitivity test
- It is a computer based test where the Candidate has to answer 40 multiple choice questions
- There is no negative marking in this section. Time allotted to answer each question is between 90 seconds depending on the type of question
- This section is computer adaptive, meaning that the computer selected questions based on the candidate's performance on preceding questions. When a correct answer is given, next question will be of higher difficulty level wheres, if the wrong answer is given next question is of lower difficulty level.

Important details
Once the NATA 2017 appointment has been fixed it cannot be cancelled or rescheduled. Under no circumstances, even the NATA 2017 Fees will be refunded.

Fees
NATA Application Fees 2017: Rs 1250 + Processing Charges
NATA Application Fees 2017 payment mode: Online via Net-banking, Credit Cards/ ICICI Issure
Charges levied for application fee payment
- Domestic Credit Card: 1.25% of the NATA fee + service tax as applicable.
- Domestic Debit Card: 0.75% of the NATA fee + service tax as applicable.
- Domestic Multiple Bank Net Banking Payment Gateway: Rs 15 for each transaction.
- PAN India ICICI Branches collection in cash (through challan): Rs. 30 per transaction.
Submission of NATA Application Form
The NATA Application form has to be submitted online and no hard copy should be sent. However, candidates are advised to take a print-out of the NATA application form for future use.
Admit Card and Result
- The NATA score card will be valid for two years from which the candidates appears for the examination.
- NATA Result 2017 will be available on official website of NATA on the fourth working day after the candidates appear for the NATA Exam.
- NATA Result 2017 will be in the form of NATA Score and will be available in e-format.
- NATA 2017 will be on a one-day test (in two parts) for the academic session 2017-18. NATA 2017 will be conducted o the 3rd Sunday of April 2017 i.e. on April 16, 2017.
