Army Institute of Fashion & Design 2017

About 


The Army Institute of Fashion & Design, Bangalore was established by the AWES in 2004. The primary focus of the Institute is to make available excellent technical and professional education in the field of Fashion Designing and Apparel Management




Courses Offered: 

  • B.Sc. (Fashion & Apparel Design) 3 Years (6 Semesters) Affiliated with Bangalore University (60 Seats)



Note: UG Course :10 % of seats are offered for Karnataka Civilians



Eligibility for  AIFD 


The admission to the Army Institute of Fashion and Design is for the children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible ex Army personnel and wards of war widows/widows of the Army. 


The children of following categories of Army personnel are eligible and they are required to submit the relevant certificate as given against the category applicable to them as proof of their eligibility for admission to Army Institute of Fashion and Design along with the Application Form.


The applicants must fall into one of the following categories :-


(i) Children of serving Army personnel with minimum 10 years continuous service in the Army (Submit Certificate No 1).


(ii) Children of ex Army personnel granted / awarded regular pension, liberalized family pension, family pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board/invalided medical board. This includes wards of recruits medically boarded out and granted disability pension. (Submit Certificate No 1).



Educational Qualifications



  • The applicant must have passed 11 and 12 Std having studied same combination for two years regular students with a minimum of 35% aggregate marks from a board recognized by UGC/University. 
  • Bangalore University norms will be followed with regard to admission approval, refund of fees and retention of original

Interested candidates can download the application from this link and submit the filled application along with Rs 550/- Demand Draft as mentioned above


Candidates are required to fill in the form given at the end of the Prospectus. The Prospectus can be obtained by the Candidates from the Office of 

AIFD Bangalore, 

Nagareshwara Nagenahalli, 

Kothanur Post, 

Bangalore – 560077, 


through requisition along with a crossed demand draft or Rs 550/- (which includes Rs.50/- as postal charges) in favour of ARMY INSTITUTE OF FASHION & DESIGN payable at Bangalore. Money order/Cheque/Postal order will not be accepted. (ON THE REVERSE SIDE OF DEMAND DRAFT STUDENT NAME SHOULD BE MENTIONED WITHOUT FAIL). 


Prospectus is also available at the Institute, Army Headquarters (AWES) and all the Command Headquarters (AWES) on payment of demand draft of Rs 500/-.



Note: Students downloading the forms from website will have to attach a draft of Rs 500/- along with the application form towards candidateship for WAT/CAT.

Important Dates 

  • Last date for receipt of application form : 05 Apr 2017
  • Last date for receipt of application form (with late fee of Rs.100/-) : 25 Apr 2017
  • Dispatch of admit cards to students : 25 Apr 2017 
  • Written Admission Test (WAT) for UG only : 13 May 2017(Saturday)
  • Announcement of results : 22 May 2017
  • Registration of candidates for institute and hostel by paying Rs.10,000/- and Rs.5,000/- respectively : On or before 02 June 2017
  • Announcement of final list of candidate for admission will be published in the Institute website selected : 05 June 2017
  • Dispatch to the selected candidates of joining instructions : 06 June 2017 onwards
  • Payment of balance of Institute and Hostel Fee On or before : 17 Jun 2017


Last date to with draw the seat :
  • If the balance fee is not paid or candidate fails to withdraw seat, seat will be allotted to waiting list candidates and the registration fee will be forfeited : 17 June 2017
  • Tentative date of Reporting to Institute for admission (Selected candidates only): 19 Jun 2017
  • Commencement of course : 20 June 2017 

Note-1 : WAT results will be available in the institute web site www.aifdonline.in

2 : GOC K&K Sub Area & Chairman of Institute will address freshers on 20 June 2017 at 09-30 AM.
