ICAR All India Entrance Exam 2017 for UG admissions

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) conducts the entrance examination popularly known as All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA). 

This examination is basically organized for providing admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. AIEEA UG is the entrance examination through which the candidates are admitted to the bachelor degree programmes in agriculture other than veterinary sciences

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) invites online applications from Indian Nationals, in the prescribed format, for 22nd AIEEA-UG-2017  to fill 15% seats for Bachelor degrees (100% for NDRI Karnal, RLB CAU, Jhansi, and Dr. RP CAU, Pusa, Bihar). AIEEA-UG-2017 does not include admission to Bachelor degree programme in Veterinary Sciences.

Eligibility Criteria

Age for AIEEA UG 2017: Not less than 16 years as on 31st August, 2017

Qualifying Examination

• For AIEEA UG (Other than Veterinary Sciences): The candidates belonging from GEN, UPS (Under Privileged State) and OBC categories must have passed 10+2 examination with 50% aggregate marks (40% in case of SC/ST/PC).

• Must have obtained not less than 50% marks in aggregate in 10+2 examination or equivalent with PCM/PCB/PCMB/PCF subject combinations/Inter Agriculture for admission under General, UPS (Under Privileged State) and OBC (Noncreamy layer) categories or 40% marks in aggregate for admission under SC, ST and PC categories. However, candidates with PCF combination are eligible for admission to B.Sc. (Horti.) only

• Appearing candidates are also eligible.

Seat & Reservation

• For the academic session 2017-2018, ICAR 22nd AIEEA UG and ICAR 22nd AIEEA PG will be conducted to admit candidates in 100% seats available at ICAR deemed-to-be-Universities namely NDRI, Karnal, RLB Central Agricultural Universities Jhansi, IARI, IVRI and CIFE. 

• The undergraduate courses is offered by the NDRI, Karnal and RLB Central Agricultural Universities Jhansi while PG is offered by the NDRI, IARI, IVRI and CIFE. 

• State Agricultural Universities also provides admission through ICAR 2017 AIEEA UG and PG entrance exam. 

It offers 15% seats for UG degree courses and 25% seats for PG degree courses. Reservation criteria is as following:

• SC – 15% seats

• ST – 7.5% seats

• PC – 3% seats

• UPS – 2% seats

• OBC – Reservation in Central Educational Institutions/ Universities will be as per govt. of India rules.

• The applications will be submitted through ONLINE mode only.

• The aspirants can fill the AIEEA UG and AIEEA PG online application form through the official website of ICAR. 

• The offline application form along with information bulletin can be obtained from Registrars of Agricultural Universities against the cash payment or from the prescribed branches of Syndicate bank and will be also be available in the eight institutions of ICAR by making the payment through bank draft. 

• On the official website of ICAR, demo application form is also facilitated by the council so that the candidates can get the idea about the online procedure for filling the form.

Application Fee

• For GEN, OBC and UPS Categories – 500/-

• For SC/ST and PC Categories – 250/-

Mode of Payment

• Online Payment:The payment for the online application form can be done through Bank challan of Syndicate bank or credit/debit card by using the payment gateway of Canara bank/NEFT.

Exam Pattern

For AIEEA UG:

• It has only single question paper containing 180 multiple choice questions.

• For stream-A, the questions will be asked in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Agriculture) and for stream-B, it will be asked from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 

The question paper medium will be English as well as Hindi. There is a negative marking of 1 mark for every incorrect answer.

Stream-A (Agriculture/Biology) includes Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Forestry, Home Science, Sericulture, Food Science and Biotechnology stream.

Stream-B (Mathematics) includes Agricultural Engineering, Dairy Technology, Agricultural Marketing & Co-operation, Forestry, Food Science and Biotechnology.

Admit Card

• The e-admit card will be uploaded on ICAR website during specified period. This copy of admit card must be self-attested and brought to the Examination Hall for appearing in the examination. 

• Candidate is advised to preserve this e-admit card till completion of counselling and admission process in the allotted agricultural University.

Important Dates

• Online applicatons submission starts from: 20th April, 2017

• Last date of Online Application: 4th May, 2017

• Date of examination: 10th June, 2017

• Declaration of result: 30th June, 2017 (Tent.)
