Swachh Sankalp Se Swachh Siddhi Essay & Film Making Competition

About


The Honorable Prime Minister in his “Mann Ki Baat” on 29th July 2017 spoke about a Sankalp to make “Filth – Quit India”. On August 9, 2017, he also issued a clarion call to the nation during his speech on the floor of the Lok Sabha to embrace the "Sankalp se Siddhi" movement, and appealed to all citizens to play their role towards achieving a New India by 2022.


To help implement the Honorable Prime Minister’s vision, Swachh Sankalp se Swachh Siddhi Essay Competition is being organized as another major step in making Swachhta a Jan Aandolan. 

Individuals are invited to write essays of not more than 250 words on the theme of Swachhta and describe how they can personally contribute to the Swachh Bharat Mission Or Individuals are requested to make 2 to 3 minute films on the theme of Swachhta and show how they can contribute to the Swachh Bharat Mission.


  • Essay Topic - What can I do for a Clean India?
  • Film Topic: My contribution towards making India clean


Eligibility Criteria


  • Gender: Both
  • Region: Across India
  • Class/Age: There is No Age Bar


Details:

  • This competition is open ti Indian Citizens Only.
  • Participants of essay writing competition from school and central police force should submit their entries to their respective organization.
  • The content of essay & video should be an original piece of work. The entry must not infringe the rights of any other party. Anyone found infringing on other' copyright would be disqualified from the competition.
  • Not Eligible: MDWS employees and Zila Swachh Bharat Preraks are not eligible for this competition.


Rewards


For Essay Writing Competition

  • Three winners will be awarded at the national level.
  • Awards will also be given at the State and District levels.



For Film Making Competition

  • The awards will be provided under the following categories. Please indicate your category with a hashtag(#) as per given below:
           Age (0-18 years), #below18
          Age (18 and above), #above18
  • Three winners in each of the above mentioned categories will be awarded at the national level.
  • Awards will also be given at the State and District levels.


How to Apply



  • Those candidates who want to participate in this Swachh Sankalp se Swachh Siddhi Essay & Film Making Competition need to register themselves with "mygov.in". 
  • The registration process for this competition is started on 17 August 2017 and will be closed on 8 September 2017. 




Submission of the Entries


Submission of Video Entries:



  • Videos are to be uploaded on www.youtube.com and the link to the same must be shared on www.mygov.in
  • Entries submitted through any other medium/mode would not be considered for evaluation.


Submission of Essay Entries:


  • All entries must be submitted on www.mygov.in. Make sure your MyGov profile is accurate and updated as we will use the information on the profile for further communication. 
  • This includes your name and phone number. 
  • Entries of participants who fail to furnish complete profile will be rejected.



Instructions to Essay & Film Making Competition


The short film & essay could be made in any of the following languages- It is mandatory to use the hashtag along with the languages in which the essay has been written:

 #assamese, #bengali, #bodo, #dogri, #english, #gujarati, #hindi, #kannada, #kashmiri,
#konkani, #maithili, #malayalam, #manipuri, #marathi, #nepali, #oriya, #punjabi,
#sanskrit, #santhali, #sindhi, #tamil, #telugu and #urdu.

In case of a silent film please use #silent.


Instruction to Essay Writing Competition

  • The participant is expected to type/write an essay which is not more than 250 words on paper or mobile/laptop.
  • The essay should then be scanned, photographed, digitized or uploaded by any mode and submitted through the contest page.
  • Participants should upload the essay in JPEG/PNG/PDF format only. No other formats can be uploaded on this portal.


Instruction to Film Making Competition

  • The duration of the film submitted by the participant should be 2 to 3 minutes only. Films longer than three minutes will be rejected.
  • Ensure that all content in your film (including footage, music, images, props, etc.) is your own.
  • Videos are to be uploaded on www.youtube.com and the link to the same must be shared on www.mygov.in


Selection Process


  • The essay will be evaluated based on the creativity, simplicity, originality of thought and effectiveness in communicating the theme.
  • The jury will be set up by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.
  • The decision of the jury will be final and binding and no clarifications would be issued to any participants on the decisions made by the jury.
