National Level Science Talent Search Examination (NSTSE) -2018

About


The NSTSE (National Level Science Talent Search Examination) is a comprehensive, independent examination that delivers challenging and high quality educational experience through a broad array of applied learning settings.


The NSTSE question papers are scientifically designed to test concepts underlying the curriculum, in an interesting way. NSTSE is aimed at providing valuable and detailed diagnostic reports for specific improvement and further development of school students. 

While NSTSE encourages students to reason critically and solve problems, it also helps to boost confidence and enable students to realize their optimum potential.


The registration for the NSTSE Competition can be done by both ways i.e. either participant can do individual registration or they can register through school.


Eligibility Criteria


  • Gender: Both
  • Class: Class 2 to 10, 11 & 12 (Only PCM and PCB). There is no exam for XI, XII PCMB group.



Examination Pattern



  • There is a separate question paper for each class. All questions are objective-type with no negative marking for wrong answers.
  • The medium for the exam is English.
  • Duration of the examination for all classes: 90 minutes.
  • NSTSE is beased on the CBSE syllabus. 85% of the Syllabus is considered for setting the NSTSE Question Papers.
  • NSTSE Question Papers are also suitable for students of ICSE/ISC and Various other State Board/Matriculation Syllabi.

Examination Fee



  • Students appearing for the NSTSE are required to pay a fee of Rs. 300.
  • The above fee includes Examination Fee, Success series book, Set of Previous Question Papers, Student's Performance Report (SPR) and postal charges



How to Apply


Individual Registration



  • We accept direct/individual applications for the NSTSE.



Registration through School



  • Please send a single consolidated Demand Draft for the exam fee of all the students appearing for the NSTSE from your school.
  • D.D. should be drawn in favour of UNIFIED COUNCIL payable at HYDERABAD.
  • Frame the list of students in the FORMAT (preferably typed and send it to our address along with the D.D by Courier Service/Register post / Speed Post.

Prizes


Prizes for National Achievers



  • NSTSE Topper is awarded Rs. 2,00,000 cash prize*. The student who achieves the highest percentage of marks among all the classes is declared as NSTSE Topper.
  • The top 3 rankers of each class are awarded a Tablet PC + a Memento + a Medal, each
  • The next 22 rankers in each class (Ranks 4 to 25) of each class are awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1000 each. 
  • Rankers 26 to 100 of each class are awarded BMA’s Talent & Olympiad Exams Resource Book from M/s. Brain Mapping Academy, each.
  • All the rankers (1 to 100) will each be awarded a Britannica Concise Encyclopedia and Planet Earth(2 CD Pack) worth Rs. 1690, a Medal and a Certificate of Appreciation.
  • Participation certificates are offered to all students who appear for the examination.



Prizes for State Toppers



  • Top 3 rankers from each State (minimum of 10,000 students in a particular State) are awarded with a special award for encouragement. 
  • He/she is awarded with a Britannica Concise Encyclopedia and Planet Earth(2 CD Pack) worth Rs. 1690 and a Certificate of Appreciation.


Note: State-wise ranks are declared after excluding the top 100 ranks across the country.


Consolation Prizes



  • Top ranker in each class from selected cities* are awarded a Britannica Concise Encyclopedia and Planet Earth(2 CD Pack) worth Rs. 1690 and a Certificate of Appreciation.

Note: City-wise topper is declared after the 100 ranks across the country and state toppers.

Important Information


  • Students may make photocopies of the blank registration
  • form and use for their friends' registrations for participating in NSTSE-2018.
  • If a single envelope is being used by more than one student applying to get her, then the examination fee also can be sent to get her through a single Demand Draft.

  • Date of Examination (For students applying through School): January 24, 2018
  • Date of Examination (For students applying Individual/Direct applicants): February 4, 2018
