About
NDA Online Application Form 2018 can be filled only through Online mode. There is no offline mode of filling the application form. Union Public Service Commission has released the admission notification for NDA 2018 on 15 January 2018. Candidates will have to fill the NDA Online Application form for admission to Army, Indian Navy, Air Force and Naval Academy of the NDA for the 14st course and for the 103rd Indian Naval Academy Course.
NDA Exam is held twice in a year and selection is based on the written test followed by interview.
The candidates joining Indian Naval Acdemy would undergo 4 years B.Tech Course and would be given an apportunity to join Executive and Technical Branches of the Navy subject to availability of Vacancies.
NDA Exam (Written) is of 900 marks and interview is also of 900 marks thus there is equal weightage for both the written test and interview.
Cadets of three services, the Army, the Navy and Air Force train together before they go on to pre-commissioning training in their respective services academics after completing the programme.
- Army cadets go to IMA at Dehradun for training
- Air Force cadets to AFA at Dundigal, Hyderabad for training
- Naval Cadets to INA, Ezhimala, Kerela for training

Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
A candidate must either be
(i) a citizen of India, or
(ii) a subject of Bhutan, or
(iii) a subject of Nepal, or
(iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India
Age
Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 02nd January, 1999 and not later than 1st January, 2002 are eligible.
Physical Requirements

Physical Conditioning
All the candidates are advised to keep themselves in good physical condition, by following points mentioned below:
- Running 2.4 km in 15 minutes
- Skipping
- Push ups and sit ups (minimum 8)
- Rope Climbing :3-4 meters
Vision Standards for Naval Candidates: Uncorrected without Glasses: 6/6 and 6/9, Corrected with Glass: 6/6 and 6/6
Vision Standards for Air Force: Candidates who wear spectacles usually are not eligible for Air Force.
Educational Qualifications
For Army Wing of National Defence Academy :—12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy :—12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University. Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.
Note: Candidates appeared in class 12 Board Examination in March 2018 are being given a special concession to appear in the NDA 2018 exam conducted by UPSC. Hence, they are required to submit the proof of passing class by 24 December 2018.

How to Apply
- Online submission of application can only be made at website www.upsconline.nic.in. Detailed instructions are available at the site. Candidate should read the instructions carefully before making any entry or selecting options.
- Candidates may please note that changes are not allowed in the online application, once it is submitted.
- The filling of online application contains two parts.
- In Part I registration, candidate will have to fill basic information. On submission of details, candidate will be prompted to check the details and make correction, if any, in the application.
- Part-II Registration consists of filling up Payment details (except for fee exempted candidates), selection of examination centre, uploading of Photograph and Signature and agreeing to declaration.
Important Instructions
- Scanned photograph should be in JPG format. The digital size of file must be less than 40 kb and greater than 3 kb and resolution 140 pixel height by 110 pixel width and Bit Depth of image file should be 24 bit.

- On successful completion of your complete application, an auto-generated email will be sent on your registered email-id. In case email is not received by you please check / ensure that submission of Part-II of the Application has been made by you.
