National Institute of Fashion Technology invites application from for NIFT Entrance Exam 2017 for admission to the Bachelor Degree Programme in Design Management and Technology at NIFT Institute for academic session 2017-18.
National Institute of Fashion Technology offers admission in Bachelor of Design, Master of Design, Bachelor of Fashion Technology, Mater of Fashion Management and Master of Fashion Technology.
Candidates can fill their NIFT Application Form from November 2, 2016 to January 10, 2017.

NIFT has 15 campuses in India. They are: Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Jodhpur, Kangra, Kannur, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Patna, Raebareli, and Shillong
Eligibility Criteria
- Age: Maximum age should not exceed 23 years as on October 1, 2016
- Education Qualification: The educational qualification for both the courses are given below:
Bachelor of Design (B.Des)
- Candidates should have passed the 10+2 level exam in the 10+2 pattern from any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education / State Board New Delhi, Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi; OR
- General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced level/ International Baccalaureate (IB); OR
- Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in Foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system; OR
- A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Exam conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects; or 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.
Eligibility for Bachelor of Fashion Technology (Apparel Production) (B.FTech)
- The 10+2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of exam of any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Exam such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi with Physics, Chemistry and Maths; or General Certificate Education (GCE) Exam (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the advanced (A) level with Physics, Chemistry and Maths; OR
- Any Public School/Board/University exam India or in foreign countries recognised by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system with Physics, Chemistry and Maths; OR
- A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Exam conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects with Physics, Chemistry and Maths; OR
- 3 or 4 years diploma recognised by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education (Engineering background)

Negative Marking: There will no negative marking and each right answer will be awarded 1 mark

NIFT Admission will be conducted on 14th Feb 2017. The syllabus and exam pattern are mentioned below:
GENERAL ABILITY TEST (GAT)
For Bachelor of Design (B.Des) - Duration: 120 minutes
- Quantitative Ability - 25 Qs
- Communication Ability - 35 Qs
- English Comprehension - 30 Qs
- Analytical Ability - 30 Qs
- General Knowledge and Current Affairs - 30 Qs
Total - 150 Qs
Creative Ability Test (CAT)
This test is administered to judge the intuitive ability, power of observation in concept development and design ability of the candidate. An important aspect of the test is the creative and innovative use of colour and illustration skills.
General Ability Test (GAT)
For Bachelor of Technology (B.F.Tech) - Duration: 180 minutes
- Quantitative Ability - 30 Qs
- Communication Ability and English Comprehension - 45 Qs
- Analytical and Logical Ability - 25 Qs
- General Knowledge and Current Affairs - 25 Qs
- Case Study - 25 Qs
Total - 150 Qs

The Prospectus is available at NIFT website www.nift.ac.in free of cost; the Application Fee has to be paid through online payment gateway or through Bank Demand Draft issued in favour of "NIFT HO" payable at New Delhi.
- Fee for General/OBC (Non-Creamy) Category: Rs.1500/- through payment gateway or Demand Draft;
- Fee for SC/ST/PHP Category: Rs.750/- through payment gateway or Demand Draft
Mode of Payment
- Credit Cards/Debit Cards and Demand Draft (A) Credit Cards /Debit Cards Payments of application fee (Rs.1500/- or Rs.750/-) can be made through credit cards/debit cards as explained above.
- The bank and transaction charges on the application fee will be borne by the applicant; candidates are advised to apply on time.
- Candidates applying through Demand Draft are required to send the printout of the Application Form, duly completed in all respect, along with DemandDraft on the following address

Admit Card
On the basis of information given in the NIFT Application Forms, Admit Cards of provisionally eligible candidates will be available for download from www.nift.ac.in or http://applyadmission.net/NIFT2017 from 23rd January 2017 onwards.
Admit cards will not be sent by post. Candidates are advised to regularly check NIFT website for updates
Result
- The Result Publication of NIFT 2017 will be online mode through the official website “nift.ac.in”. It is expected that the Result of NIFT 2017 can be viewed in the last week of May/June 2017.
- After the declaration of result, candidates will be invited for further interview and document verification. The counselling of successful candidates will begin from June 2017 as expected.
- NIFT exam is conducted just to check out the knowledge, aptitude and skill of candidates towards the programme opted by them. The exam is conducted at the broad level at 32 exam centres across the country.
- Counselling: The details of counselling viz. the mode, dates and procedure will be available on the website in the month of April/May 2017.
