About
- 19th Merit Search Exam is being conducted since last 18 years, through which students are awarded with Merit Certificates and Scholarships.
- The Council conducts Merit Search Examination every year one or two times. Students of any Govt. or private school / college, studying between class (std) 5th to 10+2 (Inter) can participate in the Examination.
- All qualified students are awarded with Merit Certificate, while toppers additionally get scholarship for one year further study as per norms.

Eligibility Criteria
- Class/ Age: Students of Class 5 to 12 of any Government or Private School or College
- Region: All India (But exam will be in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh & Uttarakhand)
Students would be divided into 3 groups according to classes:

- Bonus Scholarships for 3rd year: Students getting Scholarship for 2 consecutive years, automatically get it in the 3rd year.
- Payment of Scholarship: The Scholarship amount will be made only through Cheque/Bank Draft/M.O

Fee Details
- Registration Fee: Rs. 300
- Old Questions Papers: Previous ten years question paper may be obtained on payment of Rs. 20 per year per Class.
- There are separate Question Paper for each Class.
- Medium of Examination: The Merit Scholarship Exam will be conducted in Hindi/ English
- Questions are Objective type, except literature, which are Subjective & 1st Qualifying.

Selection Process
- Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of a written test.
- Students who attain 50% marks in literature would be evaluated further
- In all the student needs to score a minimum of 60% marks to qualify.
Important Dates:
- Date of Closure of Registration : 31/12/2015
- Date of Examination: 10/04/2016
- Result Declaration: After 90 days of Exam
