About

• UPESEAT 2016, commonly known as University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Engineering aptitude Test  is the entrance exam conducted by University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun. The UPESEAT exam is conducted every year by UPES for admission to their Undergrate and Integrated PG engineering programmes. 

• Each year UPES conducts aptitude tests to fill 1,600 seats for various B.Tech programs.

Eligibility criteria

• Age: Candidates shall be born on or after October 1, 1994.

• For B.Tech All Streams: Candidate should have passed Higher & Senior Secondary level (Class 10 and Class 12) with minimum 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (Class 12).

Application process

Eligible candidates can get the UPESEAT Application Form 2016 from the following modes:

• By Hand - From admission counters at Ahmedabad / Chandigarh/ Cochin / Coimbatore / Delhi / Dehradun / Hyderabad / Kolkata / Mumbai by paying Rs. 1750 or they can get it from AXIS BANK branches. 

• By Post - Send a demand draft of Rs. 1850 in favor of “UPES Fee Account”, payable at New Delhi/ Dehradun along with request letter.

UPESEAT 2016 Scholarships

UPES will provide scholarship to Students- 100% Scholarship on Tuition Fee

• Students with an aggregate of 85% Marks in class 12 and 90% in PCM in CBSE or ICSE Examination Board passing out in 2014.

• Such Scholarships will be limited to 5% of seats in each B. Tech. Program.

• Scholarships will be allotted after commencement of the classes in Merit order to eligible candidates.

• Continuation of Scholarship in the subsequent year will be as per the University policy.

 

Selection process

• Selection is based upon UPESEAT Result 2016 that will be announced by UPES tentatively in the second week of June 2016

• UPESEAT 2016 Counselling

• The UPESEAT 2016 Counselling Process shall be a centralized process with 80% of the seats reeserved for UPESEAT 2016 qualifying candidates and the remaining 20% through Board Merit or JEE Main 2016 scores.

• Candidates will have to attend UPESEAT 2016 Counselling Process in person with original certificates for document verification.

 

Exam pattern

 Question paper will consist of 200 questions divided into following sections:

Other important details

• For Uttarakhand bonafide resident candidates: 15% of seats in all programs will be reserved on merit, subject to producing of “Sthai Niwas Praman Patra” certificate.
