Thapar University BTech Admission 2017| Last Date Extended!

Candidates seeking admission to B.Tech programmes at Thapar University other than B.Tech Biotechnology will be admitted on the basis of their JEE Main 2017 scores.

Admission to B.Tech Biotechnology will now be based on NEET 2017 scores of the applicants. There will be no separate exams for UG Engineering admissions that will be conducted by the university. The application form for Thapar University B.Tech 2017 is available from March 21, 2017. The application forms are available online and candidates will have till April 25, 2017 to submit the form after filling the requisite details. 

There are around 1240 seats in the B. Tech/BE courses at Thapar University. To be considered for Thapar University B.Tech Admission 2017 candidates will also have to meet the eligibility criteria set by the admissions committee, which will specify the needed academic qualification, pass percentage that will be acceptable, nationality, age and lastly the JEE Main scores obtained in 2017.

• BE/B.Tech (4-Years)/International Engineering Programme (IEP) (2+2)/Dual-Degree BE-MBA (5-Years) Programme except B.Tech (Biotechnology)

• B.Tech (Bio-Technology) (4-Years) Programme

• BE/B.Tech (Lateral Entry) (Second Year) (3-Years)

Direct Admission to Thapar University B.Tech/B.E

• The first five toppers of the recognized Boards of India in the examinations held in 2017, shall be given direct admission to the first year of UG program, with the condition that they must have appeared in JEE (Main)-2017 but the entrance test score of such students shall not be required for admission. 

• They shall be allocated branch of their choice. Such candidates shall have to furnish proof of being toppers from their respective boards. Tuition fee shall also be waived off for such students provided they maintain minimum CGPA of 8.50 in subsequent semesters. 

• Only toppers having first five positions among science stream (Non-Medical) at 10+2 of a respective board shall be considered.

Eligibility Criteria

• Nationality: Candidates must be Indian Citizens possessing a good moral character

• Age: Candidates must have born on or after October 1, 1992 (5 years relaxation in age for SC/ST/PH candiadtes).

Academic Qualification for BE/B.Tech (4-Years)/International Engineering Programme (IEP) (2+2)/Dual-Degree BE-MBA (5-Years) Programme

• The Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject OR Minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST) marks in a Diploma recognized by AICTE or a state board of technical education of at least 3-year duration.

• The Candidate must have secured at least 20% aggregate marks (15% for SC/ST candidates) in JEE (Main)-2017. This clause shall not be applicable for the PGN, GoI, JKM, JK students & N-E students

OR

• The Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 80% marks (75% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject.

• The Candidate must have secured at least 15% aggregate marks (10% for SC/ST candidates) in JEE (Main)-2017. This clause shall not be applicable for the PGN, GoI, JKM, JK students & N-E students

• The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Chemistry and, Biology.

• The candidate must have secured at least 20% aggregate marks (15% for SC/ST candidates) in NEET-2017.

OR

• The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 80% marks (75% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

• The candidate must have secured at least 15% aggregate marks (10% for SC/ST candidates) in NEET-2017.

After filling of application form and paid the application fee successfully through online mode, then you will receive the confirmation by email regarding the acceptance of your online application form. 

In case you choose the option of making payment through Demand Draft (DD), then you will receive the confirmation by email regarding the acceptance of your online application form after the University receives your filled Application Form along with DD through Registered Post/Courier/Speed Post or by hand at the following address:
