Army Institute of Technology (AIT), Pune is an undergraduate engineering college which offers admission only to children/wards of serving/retired Army personnel. 

The notification for Army Institute AIT Pune UG Engg Admissions 2016 through JEE Main has been announced. 

Admission is offered only to the students who qualify the AIT Pune Admission 2016

Duration

For Undergraduate Courses in B.E. for duration of four years each

Availability of Seats

• AIT offers 300 seats for Engineering Course commencing in July 2016 (120 seats in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, 60 seats each in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Information Technology)

• Only wards of serving/retired Army personnel are eligible to apply for admission to AIT

Eligibility Criteria

• Children of serving/retired Army personnel are eligible; the parent should have completed minimum 10 years of service in the Army

• Detailed eligibility criteria will be published in the Prospectus being made available in February 2016

• The candidate must fulfill the age criteria requirements as per JEE Main 2016

Qualifications

• Class XII or equivalent (appeared or passed) with compulsory subjects as Physics and Mathematics alongwith one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational Subject; candidate should obtain at least 45% in each of the subjects

• Should appear for JEE (Main) 2016 Exam and have acquired appropriate/required ranking as per All India Ranking List published by CBSE for admission to Engineering Colleges (Last year’s last admitted student’s All India Ranking was 1,29,893)

• Must be an Indian citizen, or a PIO who obtains Indian citizenship before admission

Entrance Exam

• AIT admission is based on the All India Ranking as published by CBSE  taking into consideration of scores obtained in the  Joint Entrance Exam (JEE (Main) 2016) and marks obtained in Class XII Examinations (60% of Entrance exam marks + of 40% normalized scores in Class XII marks)

• All applicants are therefore required to appear in JEE Main 2016 and also apply to AIT for Admission; failing to fill up any one of the forms will lead to rejection of admission to AIT

• Candidates should apply for JEE Main 2016 ‘Online’ in the month of December 2015

• Application form and the Information Bulletin are available on JEE (Main) website www.jeemain.nic.in

• AIT does not deal with distribution of JEE Main forms and queries if any; JEE-Main 2016 will be conducted in the month of April 2016

• The applicants should then fill online application on website www.aitpune.com w.e.f. 15th March 2016 after receipt of JEE (Main) Roll Number (Exam seat Number)

• Cost of Online application is Rs 884/-, inclusive of processing charges

Important Dates

• Candidates should apply for JEE Main 2016 ‘Online’ in the month of December 2015

• Prospectus can be downloaded from AIT website wef 20th January 2016

• AIT online application on website w.e.f. 15th March 2016 after receipt of JEE (Main) Roll Number

• Last date for submission of completed Application Form: 25th April 2016

• Admission schedule and Joining Instructions will be hosted on the AIT website www.aitpune.com in the month of June 2016

• For Engineering Course commencing in July 2016
