  • Bhagwat Gita As It Is Essay Competition 2015 is an open competition without any restriction related to age, nationality etc.
  • The participants should write an essay on the topics provided by the Bhagavad Gita As It Is Essay Writing Competition Trust.
  • The 'Bhagavad Gita As It Is' with translation and purports by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada will be considered as the resource book and in case any other Bhagwat Gita is used, the applicant will be disqualified.
  • Participation: The entries are to be submitted online and the last date to complete the submission is December 31, 2015.

Eligibility Criteria



  • Participation to Bhagwat Gita As It Is Essay Competition is not restricted by barriers such as Nationality, Age, Occupation or level of Studies.
Not Eligible to Participate
  • The only restriction applicable is that winners from previous years are not allowed to participate in the same category again.



Reward


The Bhagwat Gita As It Is Essay Competition will be organized in 3 different categories. The winning essays will be published on the website and the details of the cash prizes are:


Level 1: 
The top 3 winners will be awarded the following Cash prizes:
  1. First Prize: The winner of the first prize will get cash prize of 10,000 AUD (Approx. INR 4.82 Lakh)
  2. Second Prize: AUD 100 (Approx. INR 4,800) will be given to the winner of Second Prize.
  3. Third Prize: The winner of the third prize will get a cash prize of AUD 100 (Approx. INR 4,800).
Level 2: Cash prize of the following amount will be given to the winners:
  1. First Prize: First prize winner will get a cash prize of AUD 1,000 (Approx. INR 48,000).
  2. Second Prize: AUD 100 (Approx. INR 4,800) will be given to the winner of Second Prize.
  3. Third Prize: The winner of the third prize will get a cash prize of AUD 100 (Approx. INR 4,800).
Level 3: The winners of level 3 will get:
  1. First Prize: AUD 100 (Approx. INR 48,000)
  2. Second Prize: AUD 50 (Approx. INR 2,300)
  3. Third Prize: AUD 50 (Approx. INR 2,300).



Application Process


The competition will be organized in three different categories and to be a part of the competition, candidates are required to pay a specific amount as ‘Cost of Entry’. The details related to participation in the contest are:

Categories: The competition will be organized in 3 different categories and the details are as follow:
  1. Category 1Participants will have to answer Essay Question for individuals and the cost to enter this category is AUD 35 (Approx. 1,700 INR).
  2. Category 2: Participants are required to work in a group to answer the question. To enter this category, there is an entry fee of 10 AUD (Approx. 500 INR).
  3. Category 3: Participants are required to give the essence of "Bhagavad Gita As It Is" in 140 or fewer characters. The cost to enter this category is AUD 2 (Approx. INR 100).

  • Payment of entry fee: It is mandatory for the applicants to pay an entry fee to Participate in the competition. The entry fee is to be paid at the time of registration using Credit Card of PayPal at the given link.
  • Format: The document to be submitted needs to be in English and have a word limit of 2500-3000 words for Category 1 and 2000-2500 words for Category 2. The Word Document should have double-spaced text throughout, 4cm wide margins, left alignment, numbers in the bottom right-hand corner of the pages, 12-point font size text, and Garamond Font.
  • Number of Submission: Multiple submissions from a single candidate will be accepted, but the fee for each submission needs to be paid separately.
  • Submission: The online submission of the essay needs to be done on the official website. 




Selection Process



  • No feedback related to the essays will be provided to the candidates.
