- BITSAT 2016 is conducted every year by Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani University. BITSAT is one the most competitive national entrance exams in the country for granting admissions to various Integrated First Degree Programmes of Engineering in the university
- BITSAT is a Computer based online test and is the gateway for admission to first-degree engineering programmes offered by BITS Campuses in Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. This national level engineering entrance exam will be conducted from May 14-18, 2016 across 50 exam cities in India and Dubai.
- It is expected that somewhere around 2 lakh candidates will be appearing for BITSAT 2016 and will compete for around 2,000 seats available in various BE (Hons.) programmes available across three BITSAT campuses.

Eligibility Criteria
Academic Qualification for all BE Hons
- Subjects: Candidates appearing for Class 12 examination in 2016 or who have passed the class 12 examination in 2015 from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and adequate proficiency in English can apply.
- Minimum Marks: Candidate should have secured a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a minimum of 60% in each subject.

- The application form of BITSAT 2016 can be filled from January 8, 2016, to March 5, 2016, and each applicant can only fill one application form.

- Interested candidates should register their names by applying in the prescribed application form online and pay the prescribed fees. After filling the application form, the applicants need to take the print out of the filled form for future reference.
- However, if a candidate discovers any mistake in the form submitted by them, they can apply online second time and send a letter to admission office BITS, Pilani mentioning the earlier application number, which will be cancelled. In such cases, the second application has to be accompanied by a fresh application fee.

Selection process
- Admissions will be made on the basis of a Computer based Online Test conducted by BITS, Pilani
- The merit position of the candidate for admission will be based on the score obtained by the candidate in the BITSAT 2016.
- Their eligibility for admission is subject to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in Class 12 examination.
Exam pattern
- Language: The question paper will be in English
- Total Questions: 150 questions in Total.
- Type of Questions: The questions are of multiple choice and objective type.
- Each question has 4 options. Choose the right option.
- Marking Scheme: Each correct answer carries four marks
- Negative Marking: There is a negative marking of 1 for every wrong answer.
- No marks will be awarded for non-attempted questions
- Duration: 3 hours
- No time limit for Individual part / section
- Flexibility: The candidate can go back and change any of his/her answers among the 150 questions
- Option to Skip a Question: While the candidate can skip a question, the computer will not allow the candidate to choose more than one option as correct answer.
- The BITSAT 2016 test will be conducted on the basis of NCERT syllabus for class 11 and class 12.

ReplyDeleteThe BITSAT Results 2018 will be released by Birla Institute of Technology and Science in the 4th week of May 2018. Result will only be announced online on the official website of BITS University.
