AILET 2016 for admission to NLU Delhi

  • AILET ( All India Law Entrance Test) is a law entrance exam conducted by National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi) for admissions in Five Year Integrated B.A.LL.B (Hons.), one year LL.M and Ph.D. programmes
  • This year AILET 2016 will be conducted on May 1, 2016.
  • National Law University (NLU Delhi) is a well-known University of India that provides education for the different aspects of the Legal system. The university is established at Delhi since the year 2008

Eligibility Criteria


Academic Qualifications:
  • Must have passed Class 12 with minimum 50% marks a recognized board.
  • Candidates who are appearing for Class 12 in March/April 2016 are also eligible to apply. (Those who do not secure the minimum 50% marks in the qualifying exam will not be considered as eligible.)
Age
  • The upper age limit is 21 years as on July 1, 2016.
  • For SC/ST candidates: The upper age limit is 23 years in the case of SC/ST candidates.


Application process



  • Candidates are required to fill the AILET 2016 Application Form online for  the  Undergraduate course available on the official website from JANUARY 1, 2016
  • The entire process of making an application for admission in various courses during the academic session 2016-17 is ONLINE.
Requirements at the time of Applying Online
  • Valid E-mail Address
  • Valid Mobile Number
  • Scanned Copy of Photograph( in .jpg,.gif or .bmp format)
    • The size of the Photo: Not more than 150 KB.
    • Particulars of Photo: 75% of the photograph must cover the candidate's face
    • Candidates with incorrectly filled photographs are liable to be disqualified. 
  • Selecting National Law University: After you Login in the first page that is displayed is "Application Locker". Click on NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY from the List of colleges.


Application Fees

  • General Candidates - Rs. 3,000 (Subject to revise)
  • SC/ST  and Persons with Disability (PD) - Rs. 1,000 ( along with copies of requisite Caste/Person with Disability Certificate.)
  • Below Poverty Line (BPL) - BPL applicants of SC/ST category are exempted from application fee.

AILET 2016 Application Fees can be paid via two modes:
  • Cash Deposit at Post Office
  • Online Payment Gateway
National Law University, Delhi Annual Fee Structure
  • Fee structure Per year: Rs 1,61,000 (including Hostel & Mess fees)
  • Fee Structure (Annually) For Foreign Nationals:
    • Rs 3,76,000 (For SAARC countries)
    • Rs 6,76,000 (for Other countries)


Selection Process


  • The candidate shall secure a minimum of 40% (30% for SC and ST candidates) of the total marks in the AILET 2016 to become eligible for the admission. 
  • The undergraduate law aspirants will be admitted to BA LLB programme in NLU Delhi on the basis of AILET 2016 Merit.
  • On appearing in the Admission Test of NLU Delhi, the candidate will get an All India Rank (AIR) as per the performance in the law entrance exam.
  • After the declaration of  AILET 2016 Merit List, NLU-D conducts an offline counselling for admitting the qualifying candidates.
  • AILET 2016 Result – The Result of AILET 2016 will be declared in the second week of June. 

In Case, two or more candidates score the same marks :- If two candidates secure same marks in AILET 2016:

  • Then merit will be determined on the basis of marks in Class 12 or its equivalent recognized by the University. 
  • If the merit still remains the same, then the marks of Class 10 will be taken into consideration.
  • If there is still no change in marks, then the one higher in age will be considered.

  • Duration of the Exam - 1 hour 30 minutes
