SLIET SET 2016 (All India SLIET Entrance Test)

Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology invites applications for admission to Integrated Certificate Diploma (ICD), ICD (Lateral Entray), B.E (Lateral Entry), MBA, M.Sc and PhD Programmes for the academic year 2016-17. The admissions will be made through Sant Longowal Institute All India SLIET Entrance Test (SLIET SET) 2016.


B.E Program admission based on the JEE Main 2016 and M.Tech Program admission based on Valid GATE Score


For students of Integrated Certificate-Diploma (ICD) there is a provision of Vertifical Promotion through Lateral Entry into 2nd year of B.E (4 year)


Few seats are also available in different ICD Programs under PwD Scheme of Govt. of India



SLIET SET 2016 Eligibility Criteria



Three-Year ICD (Integrated Certificate Diploma) Program (SET-I & SET-IA)


Eligibility: (i) Matric pass (Pass in English, Mathematics and Science is compulsory) from a State Education Board/CBSE/ICSE/National Open School or an equivalent exam recognized/approved by MHRD, Govt. of India


(ii) For admission to Lateral Entry ICD (2nd year) in addition to the matric pass as above, must have passed full time 2 years ITI/Certificate/10+2 (vocational) in relevant trade with 50% marks(45% for reserved categories) from Govt./Semi Govt. Institute along with 2 years industrial experience from Govt./Semi Govt. and Private Industry of repute


BE (4 Year) [Admission through JEE (Main)]

Eligibility: Eligibility condition as per JEE (Main)-2016; Admission/Counselling through CSAB-2016 /JOSSA-2016



B.E (Lateral Entry) (SET-III) - 3 Years


Eligibility: All candidates who have passed Diploma course in any discipline from SLIET or from any other polytechnic affiliated with any State Board of Technical Education and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), securing 55% marks (50% in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories) are eligible






SLIET SET Exam Pattern


  • There will be only one paper of two & half hours duration and of 150 marks for SET-I, SET-1A & SET-III. For SET-V, it shall be of two hours duration and having 100 marks
  • The syllabi and distribution of marks for SET-I, SET-1A, SET-III and SET-V are given in the Chapter-III, IV, and VIII respectively and all the syllabus can also be downloaded from the institute website www.sliet.ac.in
  • There will be objective type questions with four options having single correct answer. For each incorrect response, one-fourth (1/4) of the total marks allotted to the question would be deducted
However, no deduction of marks will be made if no response is indicated for an item in the OMR Answer Sheet. The candidates appearing for Exam are advised not to attempt such item in the answer sheet if they are not sure of the correct response


All objective type questions are required to be answered on OMR Answer Sheet to be provided at the time of Exam


Answers are to be marked using ball point pen (black/blue) only



Medium of Exam


  • The medium of entrance exam for SET-IA, SET-II, SET-III and SET-V will be English
  • However, for candidates appearing in the entrance test for 3 -Year ICD Program (SET-I), question paper for Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics will be provided in English, Hindi & Punjabi language as per choice of the candidate filled in the application form at the time of registration

How to Apply





The process of registration shall be online only. Candidates should log on to www.sliet.ac.in and then fill the basic details like Date of Birth (DOB), Address, State, City, Religion, Contact / Mobile Numbers and Email very carefully in the registration form given

After successfully submitting Online Application Form for SET-2016, kindly note down your Form Number for future reference. The processing of Application Form will begin only after the successful payment of Application

  • Online Application Fee for All India SLIET Entrance Test
  • General & Other Categories (Boys): Rs.1200/*-
  • General & Other Categories (Girls): Rs.800/*-
  • SC /ST (Boys and Girls): Rs.600/*-

  • Start of Online Application Process: 15th March 2016
  • Closure of Online Application (ICD, BE & MBA): 06th May 2016
  • Closure of Online Application (PhD Program): 15th June 2016

  • 3-Year ICD Program (SET-I): 05th June 2016 (Sunday 10.00 - 12.30 Hours)
  • Lateral Entry to ICD (2nd Year) (SET-IA): 05th June 2016 (Sunday 10.00 - 12.30 Hours)
  • B.E (Lateral Entry) (SET-III): 05th June 2016 (Sunday 14.30 - 17.00 Hours)
  • Declaration of Result : SET-I/SET-IA/SET-III: 16th June 2016 (Thursday)
