National Institute of Homoeopathy Kolkata BHMS Entrance Test 2016

About



National Institute of Homeopathy (NIH) Kolkata, affiliated to 'The West Bengal University of Health Science' invites application for the program Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) from eligible candidates for the academic year 2016-17.The admissions will be made on the basis of NIH Kolkata BHMS Entrance Test 2016


Duration of the course is five and a half years including one year compulsory Rotatory Internship



Eligibility Criteria 


  • The higher secondary exam or the Indian School Certificate Exam, which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Exam after a period of twelve-year’s study, the last two-year of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology with Mathematics or any other elective subjects with English at a level not less then core course of English as prescribed by the NCERT after the introduction of the 10+2+3 years educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education; or
  • Candidate must have passed all the five subjects individually and obtained 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks for SC/ST candidates)



Age limit



To be eligible for the all India common admission test, the candidate must attain 17 years but not crossed the age of 25 years as on by 31st December 2016; those born on or before 31st December 1991 or after 1st January 2000 are not eligible



 No of Seats



In this academic year, 93 seats shall be available for admission to the BHMS Degree Course, out of which following seats for different categories of candidates

  • All India Admission Test - 63 Seats
  • Central Govt. Nominee - 14 Seats
  • Govt. of Sri Lanka Nominee - 10 Seats
  • BIMSTEC Nominees - 05 Seats
  • Foreign Nationals - 01 Seat



Selection Process



All India Admission Test of three hours duration are conducted for admissions

  • The pattern of questions will be of multiple-choice type
  • Total number of questions will be 200, Physics (60 questions), Chemistry (60 questions), Biology (60 questions) and General Knowledge (20 questions)
  • Each correct answer will carry one mark. There will be one negative mark for each wrong answer as penalty. Answer sheet will be on OMR sheet




Reservation


Reservation as per the Govt. of India norms shall be applicable. In case of candidates claiming reservation under physically challenged category, candidates having locomotor disability, involving the lower limb only shall be eligible

Blind (including colour blind), deaf, and/or dumb candidates are not eligible to apply

Filled in Application Form (in candidate’s own handwriting) is to be sent along with Bank draft of Rs.1000/- in favour of "Director, National Institute of Homoeopathy", payable at Kolkata (IPO/Cheque/Cash/Money order will not be accepted)


No Bank draft is required in case of SC/ST candidates but a copy of self-attested caste certificate must accompany the application form


Candidates who claim to belong to reserved category, must submit an self attested/certified copy of Caste Certificate along with the filled in application form in support of his/her claim


The duly filled in application form should reach the office of the Director, National Institute of Homoeopathy, Block-GE, Sector-III, Salt Lake, Kolkata-700106 on or before the last date of submission of application i.e. 16th May 2016 (Monday)


Admit Card & Prospectus will be sent by post and list of candidates with their Roll numbers and Centres will be available in the NIH Website www.nih.nic.in


Two self-addressed (six digit pin code compulsory) envelop of size 30cm x 20cm and 25cm x 12cm is to be send along with the application form for getting the prospectus through post
