Punjab Medical Entrance Test (PMET) 2016

About


The Punjab Medical Entrance Test (PMET) 2016 will be conducted on 15th May 2016 by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot. The exam is held for taking admission to Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) Programs for the academic session 2016.


Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot conducts Pre Medical Entrance Test (PMET) for the admissions to MBBS/BDS Courses in Government/Private Medical/Dental Colleges of the State


All necessary information regarding the taking of PMET-2016, allocation of merit and seeking admission to MBBS & BDS courses in the various Medical & Dental Colleges of Punjab affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot


Punjab Medical Entrance Test which is more frequently known as PMET. The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences organizes this Entrance Exam



Eligibility Criteria 


The Governor of Punjab is pleased to notify the admissions to Under - Graduate Degree Courses i.e. MBBS / BDS for the year 2016 in the Govt. & Private Medical/Dental Institutes in the State of Punjab


  •  Candidate must be an Indian Ciziten
  •  Candidate must have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December 2016 of the admission year
  •  They should have passed in such qualifying exam from a recognized institution in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English separately and should have obtained atleast 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) taken together



Reservation of Seats


Out of the total seats, Govt. of India shall fill 15% seats (All India Quota) in MBBS/BDS courses through centralized counselling by CBSE on the basis of merit in AIPMT-2016

The reservation for the State quota seats in Govt. institutes in various categories for UG Courses in Gov. Medical Institutes shall be as under:


(i) Scheduled Caste 25%, 

(ii) Backward Classes 5%, 

(iii) Backward Area/ Border Area (1% each) 2%; 

(iv) Physically Handicapped/Orthopedically Handicapped only 3%; 

(v) Sports Persons 1%


Credit shall be given only for the sports achievements made during class XI and XII


  • Private Institutes: The distribution of seats in private medical institutions shall be: (i) Govt. Quota Seats 50%; (ii) Management/Minority quota seats 50% (including 15% NRI quota)
  • Private Institutes (for Govt./Management Quota Seats): (a) Scheduled Caste 25%; b) Backward Classes 5%; c) Physically handicapped/orthopedically handicapped - 3%; d) Migrants from Jammu & Kashmir due to terrorist violence - 1%; e) Children/Grandchildren of terrorist/Sikh Riot affected persons - 2%
  • NRI Seats: 15% seats in all private Institutes/University College and 13 seats each in Govt. Medical College, Patiala and Amritsar and 3 seats in Govt. Dental College, Amritsar and 4 seats in Govt. Dental College, Patiala shall be earmarked for the Non Resident Indians in the following order:



Category I: NRI/Children of NRI who originally belong to the State of Punjab
Category II: NRl/Children of NRI who originally belong to an Indian State other than Punjab



Result


The PMET result 2016 will be available by 21st May 2016. Candidates can get their result and rank through the university office or the website of University. The rank will be decided on the basis of result that would be scored by the candidates in PMET 2016



Exam Pattern


There will be only one paper comprising in 200 multiple-choice questions based on physics, chemistry, botany and zoology as 50 questions from each

Each question will carry four marks. There is no negative marking for wrong answer. However, one mark will be deducted from unanswered question

Application Fee


Rs.5000/- for General Category (Rs.2500/- for SC categories only) be deposited in any branch of the Oriental Bank of Commerce throughout India by using Bank challan form which is generated after applying online through University website i.e.www.bfuhs.ac.in by due date and time


The prescribed Application Fee should be remitted through prescribed Bank Challan form or Payment Gateway provided using a Credit card or a Debit card issued by banks in India or through Internet Banking


Candidate will have options to generate bank challan form of Oriental Bank of Commerce or HDFC Bank or deposit fee through payment gateway available at University website


Fee once deposited in University account will not be refunded /adjusted



How to Apply





The candidates may apply for the PMET 2016 application form via online only. Candidates may get the prospectus via online from the www.bfuhs.ac.in of the university or from the university campus after paying the Rs.300/- only


Before applying, candidate should carefully read Prospectus for Eligibility Conditions and Other Important Instructions


Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate. Submitting more than one application by a candidate is liable to be rejected


After filling online application form, candidate should have to deposit requisite fee in the University account through any branch of the Oriental Bank of Commerce or HDFC Bank by using Bank Challan Form, which will be generated after filling online application form at university website i.e. www.bfuhs.ac.in or deposit online fee through payment gateway available at University website


Fee shall not be accepted in any other mode i.e. cash, Cheque, Demand Draft etc


After filling online application form by candidate, University will issue a Unique Registration Id (i.e. Login Id) and password will be provided to the candidate at his/her registered Mobile No. through SMS & Email

  • Availability of Prospectus at University Website: 04th April 2016
  • Last Date for Online Submission of Application Form through University Website [Application Fee Rs.5000/-(for SC-Rs.2500/-)]: 30th April 2016
  • Last Date for Online Submission of Application Form with Late Fee of Rs.3000/- through Website [Application Fee including Late Fee is Rs.8000/- (for SC Rs.5500/-)]: 03rd May 2016
  • Last Date for Deposition of Application Fee in any branch of OBC or HDFC Bank, through Bank Challan Form: 04th May 2016 (Up to 04.00 pm)
  • Candidates can Download Admit Card from University Website: 06th May 2016 onwards
  • Date of conduct of PMET-2016 Exam: 15th May 2016 (Sunday, Time & Venue of Test will be printed on Admit Cards)
  • Availability of Question Paper & Answer Key of PMET-2016 at University Website: 16th & 17th May 2016
  • Last Date for Submission of Objections regarding Question Paper & Answer Key of PMET-2016: Upto 18th May 2016
  • Declaration of PMET-2016 Result: By 21st May 2016
