NIMHANS Bangalore announces admission to B.Sc and M.Sc Nursing Programs 2016

National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore invites applications for admission to Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Nursing, Radiography, Anaesthesia Technology and Master of Science (M.Sc) in Psychiatric Nursing Programs for the academic year 2016-17

Courses Offered

• M.Sc in Psychiatric Nursing: 09 Seats

• B.Sc in Nursing: 77 Seats

• B.Sc in Radiography: 10 Seats (50% seats are reserved for Post Diploma candidates)

• B.Sc in Anaesthesia Technology: 06 Seats

• Diploma in Clinical Neurophysiology Technology: 06 Seats (2 for Sponsored)

Eligibility Criteria

• B.Sc Nursing (4 years): Minimum qualification for admission, Pre-University exam conducted by the department of Pre-University, or higher secondary school certificate examination (12 years course), or senior school certificate examination, Pre-degree exam (10+2), or an equivalent with 12 years of Schooling from a recognized Board or University (with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 45% aggregate)

• B.Sc Radiography (3 years): Minimum qualification for admission, Pre-University examination conducted by the department of Pre-University, or an equivalent exam recognized by the NIMHANS, Bangalore, Job oriented diploma course from a recognized Board with Diagnostic Radiography as vocational subject or equivalent (with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English with a minimum of 45% aggregate)

• B.Sc Anaesthesia Technology (3 years): Minimum qualification for admission, pass in two-year Pre-University exam or equivalent with a Science group having secured an aggregate of 45% in Science subjects (40% in case of SC/ST candidates)

Age Limit

The age of candidates for all B.Sc. courses should be between minimum of 17 years and maximum of 25 years as on 01st August 2016. No age limit for M.Sc in Psychiatric Nursing Course

Selection Procedure

Selection of candidates for the above mentioned courses will be based on the marks obtained by the candidate in the qualifying examination only. Please note there will not be any Entrance Test

Application Forms for All the Courses are Available Online at the NIMHANS Website www.nimhans.ac.in

The applications have to be filled online and submitted online; applications with enclosures will be received online only; abstract need not be sent separately.

Application Fee is Rs.1500/- for General Candidates & Rs.1000/- for SC/ST Candidates for M.Sc in Psychiatric Nursing Course.

For all Other Courses, the Fee is Rs.1000/- per course for General Candidates & Rs.750/- per course for SC/ST candidates.

The Payment is to be made online only with Debit/Credit Cards and/or Online Transfer or any other mode of payment including Demand Draft will not be accepted at any cost.

Foreign Nationals are required to submit their applications through the Diplomatic Channel (through the Ministry of External Affairs). Sponsored candidates should submit their application through proper channel.

Online Entrance Test

The Entrance Test will be held online (i.e., Computer Based)

The Online Entrance Test will be conducted on 19th June 2016 at all the four Test Centers - Bengaluru, Chennai, Cochin and Hyderabad

There may be multiple test centers in these cities and NIMHANS reserves the right to distribute applicants to any test center. A candidate has to select three cities, for taking examination, in the order of priority, i.e., 1st choice, 2nd choice and 3rd choice

A mock test demo will be hosted on the NIMHANS website 15 days prior to the Entrance Test
