The CBSE Heritagee India Quiz was introduced by CBSE in 2001.
The Heritage India Quiz is an initiative taken by the Board to develop in the students, construal interest and appreciation for the prodigious heritage and culture of our country. Every year students from all over the country participate in the quiz with tremendous enthusiasm.
The CBSE Heritagee India Quiz 2016 is divided into 3 phases:
Phase 1: City chapter- 1st week of October to Mid November
Phase 2: Regional chapter- 1st week of December 2016
Phase 3: National semi-finals and Finals- Mid December
The National Semi-Finals and the Final will be held in Delhi and will be televised.
Eligibility Criteria
- Gender: both
- Region: India
- Class/ Age: class 9-12
Details: In the initial phase i.e. city chapter only 3 students can participate from each school. Interested schools have to select have to select and sponsor three students who will be registered as a team, to compete in the city chapter.
Rewards
Participation Certificate will be awarded to all the participants of semi-finals and finals while the winners will receive cash prizes and trophies
First Prize: 21,000/-x 01 team=Rs.21,000/-
Second Prize: 12,000/-x 01 team= Rs.12,000/-
Third Prize: 7,500/-x 01 team= Rs.7,500/-
Fourth Prize: 4,500/-x 01 team= Rs. 4,500/-
Second Position (Semi-finals): 3,000/-x 04 teams= Rs.12,000/-
Third Position (Semi-finals): 1,500/-x 04 teams= Rs. 6,000/-
Fourth Position (Semi-finals): 1,000/-x 04 teams= Rs.4,000/-
How to Apply
Interested schools should submit the registration form and confirm their participation on or before 15th August, 2016.
Registration fees: The registration fees of INR 600/- must be submitted through NEFT transfer to the account of the Board.
The Unique Transaction Reference Number after submitting fees through NEFT transfer, must be mentioned in the online registration form.

The online registration will be considered only after receiving the registration fees through the NEFT transfer.
Selection Process
The CBSE Heritage India Quiz-2016 is divided into 3 phases:
Phase 1: City Chapter- Registration
- Interested schools can register till August 15, 2016, as the quiz competition will be conducted in between October 2016.
- Schools have to form a team of 3 students from class 9 to 12 on the basis of geographical diversity and the response from each region.
- The event will be held in a minimum of one location and a maximum of 06 locations as per the CBSE region.
- The quiz competition will be conducted tentatively between the first week of October to mid November, 2016.
It will be a single day event comprising of two stages.
- Stage I Round: Written Qualifier Round:
The results will be declared immediately after the evaluation is done. The top six teams will qualify for the next round.
- Stage II Round: On-Stage:
This round will be conducted at the same venue immediately after stage – I round.
The winner from each city chapter will qualify for the Regional Finals where (maximum) 06 teams will participate.
Phase 2: Regional Chapter
- To be held between Mid-November to first week of December, 2016. The top (maximum) 06 teams from each region will compete in the Regional Final.
- The quiz competition will be held in the school where the last CITY CHAPTER of the region will take place.
- The round will be an on-stage event, with mix of verbal, audio and visual questions. The top two teams from each region qualify for the National Semi-Finals.
- The schedule of the City and Regional Chapters will be put under the notifications on the CBSE website so that the teams can make necessary arrangements for their travel, loading and boarding.
Phase 3: National Semi Finals and Final
- To be held tentatively in the mid of December, 2016. The top 20 teams from the 10 competing regions will be divided into 05 groups of 04 teams each. The winner from each group will qualify for the finals.
- The National Semi Finals and the Final will be held in Delhi and will be televised.
- The quiz would include 25% questions on the tangible and intangible, folk and tribal heritages (cultural practices and endangered languages) of the North Eastern states of India.
Important points for the schools
- All the rounds of the quiz competition will be held in different school premises.
- In advance, schools will be informed about the schedule for city and regional chapters.
- Schools have to make their own arrangements for their travel, lodging and boarding to reach the venue for the city and regional chapters.
- to minimize the risk of confusion, schools should the following arrangements
- videography of the rounds
- proper installation of audio/video system
- independent observers for different rounds of the quiz
- different schools audience
