IOCL Indian Oil Sports Scholarships Scheme 2016 for Upcoming Sports Persons

About

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) provides the IOCL Indian Oil Sports Scholarships Scheme for Upcoming Sportsperson 2016-17.

A total of 65 players will be awarded with this scholarship for different games. Eligible candidates may apply for IOCL Sports scholarship application form on or before the closing date.

Objectives

• The objective of this scheme is to award Indian Oil Sports Scholarships to promising young players with a view to encourage talent and create a pool of sportsperson from whom to select sport appointees to the Corporation.

Game wise Scholarships

The scholarship will be given in two categories i.e., ‘Elite Scholar’ and ‘Scholar’ to budding youngsters in sports arena for the following games:

• Cricket-04, Hockey-04, Basketball-05, Volleyball-03, Football-02, Kabaddi-04, Tennis-02, Billiards & Snooker-04, Golf-01, Carrom-03, Badminton-06, Chess-04, Archery-0, Boxing-07, Gymnastics-01, Shooting-03, Swimming-01, Wrestling-03, Table Tennis-2, Athletics- 16

Total: 65 Vacancies

Eligibility Criteria

• Age Limit: The applicant should be above the age of 14 years and below the age of 19 years as on 30th December 2016

• Elite Scholar - For elite scholar category of team games, candidates should have represented the country in junior and senior level and for individual games national ranking 1-5 in sub junior/ junior level or semifinalists/ finalists at national championships

• Scholar - For scholar category of team games, repressing state team at junior or national level and for individual games, national ranking between 6 -15 in sub junior/ junior level or semifinalists/ finalists at national championships

• Duration of the Scholarship: The duration shall be for a period of 3 years; after the completion of the 1st year of the sports scholarship, the performance of the player shall be reviewed

• Based on this performance, the sports scholarship will be renewed for the 2nd year

Stipend Payable

• Scholar Category: First Year - Rs.9000/-; Second Year - Rs 10,000/- and Third Year - Rs 11,000/-

• Elite Scholar Category: First year - Rs.12000/-, Second Year - Rs.13000/- and Third Year - Rs.14000/-
