CS Foundation Registration 2017


About


The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is constituted under an Act of Parliament i.e. The Company Secretaries Act, 1980 (Act No. 56 of 1980). ICSI is the only recognized professional body in India to develop and regulate the profession of Company Secretaries in India.

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India awards the certificate of bestowing the designation of Company Secretary(CS) to a candidate qualifying for the membership of the Institute. 

CAREER AS A COMPANY SECRETARY


The Company Secretary is:


  • An in-house legal expert; a compliance officer of the Company.
  • An expert in corporate laws, securities laws & capital market and corporate governance
  • Chief advisor to the board of directors on best practices in corporate  governance
  • Responsible for all regulatory compliances of company
  • Corporate planner and strategic manager

Stages of CS Course


Step 1: Foundation Programme


  • Eligibility: 10+2 with any stream (Excluding fine arts)
  • After completion of a minimum period of 8 months from the date of admission (excluding the month of admission and the month of examination), the candidates would be eligible for appearing in the Foundation Programme examination 
  • Admission to the CS course is open throughout the year.         
  • Examinations are held twice a year in June & December.

  • No of paper in course: 4 papers
  • Duration: 1 and ½ hours
  • Type of exam: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
  • Qualifying Marks: 40% marks in each paper and 50% marks in the aggregate of all subjects 


Step 2: Executive Programme


Eligibility:


  • He/she should not be less than 17 years of age on the date of his application; and 
  • He/she should either passed the Foundation Programme examination of the Institute or is eligible for exemption therefrom.


Exemptions: 


  • A degree or master’s degree in any discipline (other than Fine Arts); or 
  • Pass in the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) 


Executive Programme:


  • No of Paper: 7 (Divided into two parts Module I (4 papers) and Module II (3 papers)
  • Duration for each paper: 3 hour
  • Qualifying Marks: 40% marks in each paper and 50% marks in the aggregate of all subjects

  • Company Law
  • Cost and Management Accounting
  • Economic and Commercial Laws
  • Tax Laws and Practice


Module II (3 papers)


  • Company Accounts and Auditing Practices
  • Capital Markets and Securities Laws
  • Industrial, Labour and General Laws 


Step 3: Professional Program



  • Eligibility: Has passed Executive Programme 
  • No of Paper: 7 (Divided into two parts Module I (4 papers) and Module II (3 papers)
  • Duration for each paper: 3 hour
  • Qualifying Marks: 40% marks in each paper and 50% marks in the aggregate of all subjects
  • Examination timing: Examination is conducted twice a year in June and December

TRAINING


Training type: 

(i) Management Training / Apprenticeship Training (1 year/2 years/3 years) 
(ii) Management Skills Orientation Programme (MSOP) (For 15 days) 

Duration of Training: 

(i) three years on registration for Executive Programme; or 
(ii) two years after passing the Executive Programme examination; or 
(iii) one year after passing the Professional Programme examination.

Please note that before proceeding for online registration, you need to have the soft copy of the following documents for uploading the same on the website at your respective account to get the online registration process completed



  • Photograph of the candidate
  • Signature of the candidate
  • DOB Certificate (10th Pass Certificate)
  • Roll Number (if appearing in 10+2)
  • 12th Passing certificate/Mark sheet
  • Category Certificate (if belonging to SC/ST OR Physically Handicapped Category)



Please ensure that the documents are only in the following formats otherwise you will not be able to upload the documents


  • File format is jpg, jpeg, png, gif, bmp
  • File sizes of documents does not exceed 5 MB
  • Size of Student Photo is between 20KB – 50KB
  • Size of Student Signature is between 10KB – 20KB

Once all required documents have been uploaded, the applications are checked at Directorate of Student Services and if found OK, it is approved. 

If any discrepancies are found, then student concerned is informed by e-mail to complete the requirement.


Process of downloading CS Foundation registration letter / e-Identity card through online Services:

Students can download their e-Identity card and CS Foundation registration letter from Institute’s website www.icsi.edu after approval of their application by the Institute by following the given below simple procedure:

  • Log in to your account .Enter your “Username” & “Password”
  • Click on “student” option
  • Open “my account”
  • Go to “others” option at student’s account
  • Students can download registration letter / e-Identity card at others option at their account

After downloading the Identity card, students are compulsorily required to get it attested by any of the following authorities with his/her seal carrying name, professional membership No., designation and complete official address:

1. Member of the Institute, with ACS/FCS No.
2. Gazetted Officer of the Central or State Government.
3. Manager of a Nationalised Bank.
4. Principal of a recognized School/College.
5. Officers of ICSI

Unattested Identity Cards are not valid and the students are advised to carry duly attested Identity Card for various services during their visits to the offices of the Institute, Examination centers, etc.

  • Receipt of Examination Enrollment application (for appearing in June, 2017 Examination): March 25,2017
  • Acceptance of Applications for Admission to Foundation Programme ( for appearing in Dec 2017 Examination):  March 31,2017 
  • Receipt of Enrollment application for appearing in June,2017 Examination (with late fee):  April 9,2017
  • Applying for Paper-wise Exemption on the basis of qualification for June 2017 Examination.: April 9,2017
  • Applying for Registration De Novo / Extension of registration ( for June 2017 Examination): April 9,2017
  • Declaration of Results of June 2017 Examination: August 25, 2017

  1. JEE Main 2020 | National Testing Agency is going to conduct the JEE Main 2020 Examination in a similar fashion as it conducted JEE Main 2019. Joint Entrance Examination is conducted for candidates to apply for admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. JEE Main Exam will be conducted twice every year by NTA .know more about JEE Main 2020
