The Indian Institute of Science, a leading institution of higher learning with a strong tradition of research, offers a four-year Bachelor of Science (Research) Programme which is designed as a balanced blend of core science and interdisciplinary topics to serve as a platform for attractive career opportunities in academia and industry. 


Students who complete the requirements for the award of the Bachelor of Science (Research) degree will have the option of getting a Master of Science degree by studying at the Institute for a fifth year.

Eligibility Criteria 



  • Passed/Appearing 10+2 (or equivalent) with PCM as main subjects & secured 60% or equivalent grade (relaxed to pass class for SC/ST candidates).
  • Candidates who have studied Biology, Statistics, Electronics, Computer Science, etc., in addition to Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are also eligible to apply 


How to Apply



  • IISc Application Form 2017 for UG and PG courses is available through online mode. The application form is provided on the official site of IISc and through our website. The application form  is available from 1st February 2017. 
  • The last date to submit the application form will be the 24th March 2017.
  • Sponsored candidates from Defence, DRDO, BARC, ISRO, NAL, KSRTC, BMTC, BDA, PWD and CPRI, those will be applying for the Sponsored courses, they have to submit the print copy of the online application form on 31st March 2017.


Application Fee


Candidates can deposit the application fee through online (Net-banking, Visa Card/ Master Card, Debit/Credit Cards) or offline mode (Challan). 

The fee can be paid in any branches of the SBI. The fee is non refundable.

KVPY:

  • KVPY-SA [appeared in 2015, and selected for the Fellowship]
  • KVPY-SB [appeared in 2016, and selected for the Fellowship]
  • KVPY-SX [appeared in 2016, and selected for the Fellowship]
  • KVPY Fellows selected through the Empowerment Initiative for SC/ST candidates [appeared in 2014 for SA, 2015 for SB/SX, and selected for the Fellowship]

(IIT) JEE-Main: Appearing in 2017 and securing a minimum of 60% (GN), 54% (OBC-NCL), 30% (SC/ST/PH).

(IIT) JEE-Advanced: Appearing in 2017 and securing a minimum of 60% (GN), 54% (OBC-NCL), 30% (SC/ST/PH).

NEET UG: Appearing in 2017 and securing a minimum of 60% (GN), 54% (OBC-NCL), 30% (SC/ST/PH).

  • Application Form Availability: 1st February 2017
  • Last date for submission of UG online applications: 28th April 2017
  • Last date for updating the following NET Results online (KVPY/IIT-JEE (Main) / IIT-JEE (Advance)/ NEET): Within 1 week from the date of announcement of result
  • Date of Reporting at IISc: Last week of July 2017
